Education. Education of the species of sharks that do inhabit these waters. Education of why we need them in the ecosystem. Education on the lack of threat they actually pose. Education on how to act if you are lucky enough to see one. EDUCATION

The problem is that when sharks sit too long in a classroom they dry out.
Then they get mean and eat the teacher or each other.

Very difficult to educate.

Just wonder how they hold the pencil...?

Lack of threat? tell that to the surfers who have been attacked by sharks

Do you mean the dozens of kite surfers that are attacked each year in Cabarete? Or more realistically, the ones at Reunion Island who go into the water completely aware of the risks they take?

How many surfers advocate for shark culls vs respect for the shark's environment?

Also- the shark attack at Bavaro is not listed on ISAF because it doesn't seem to have been confirmed as a shark attack.

The woman's injury could have been caused by a stingray or scorpion fish.

So the count for the Punta Cana area could still be 0. Most articles for the one at Boca Chica say the shark bites were inflicted post-mortem and not the cause of death.
