I read articles from several Spanish newspapers on a daily basis and some of them are so interesting that it made we wonder who else has read it and what people are thinking about the article or topic at hand.
It just dawned on me that maybe some people here on DR1 would be interested in discussing articles and the topic at hand in Spanish which is also an opportunity to practice your language skills. Therefore, here is a thread for that purpose.
If you read an interesting article (and it does not violate the rules of the Spanish forum and DR1) you can post it for others to read and discuss in Spanish.
I have a few to start off with that I read in the New York Times in Spanish which is an article about International Woman's Day.

This year I did some reading the day before International Women's Day to learn about the history of it in honour of women and I was amazed with some of the articles I read but at the same time disappointed about how much work that still needs to be done and the fact many women around the world are still oppressed and victims of abuse.

This article is about how female leaders in Latin America are disappearing slowly. There was a time when there were at least three over a period of years. However, as of now with Bachelet handing over the leadership to Piñera today in Chile what is the future of female leaders in Latin America?
The most recent female leaders in Latin America were:
Bachelet - Chile
Rousseff- Brazil
Chinchilla- Costa Rica
Fernández de Kirschner- Argentina

I read this article today about a man in India who through acid in his wife's face for giving birth to their second daughter. We are in 2018??? Really???

The idea is if you read an article that is posted and would like to comment you are welcome to do so in Spanish.
