Detail with the 10 years is if you travel several times a year, you'll probably fill it up before it expires. Same number of pages in 5 or 10 year and no option to add pages.

Perhaps a stupid question but...
Can you ask that they stamp a certain page to avoid filling a 10 year passport up too quickly, or will they just stamp wherever  they want?  Maybe it just depends on the official you get.

I'm hoping my 10 year passport lasts awhile but it's already filling up quickly.

You just download the form for whichever form you are using, or pick up a copy from the Canadian Embassy. The ten year has more pages than the five year.

Normally 24 but you had the option of a 48 page one if you traveled a lot. This one is no longer offered unfortunately.

5 year old thread. Probably got their new one and lost it too by now. Lol

Did you read the posts before making your useless comment? Five years is up and needs to be renewed and asking if anyone has done so recently because things change. If still not clear I suggest a translator.

And yes... things have changed.
for the better.

Passports now have 36 pgs , not 24 , and come in two terms.... 5yrs and 10

The 10 year CDN passport has been around for about 7 or 8 years. Why are you being so aggresive. The Canadian Consular Office is only a phone call away if you want factual information. Get a life buddy this a public form.

I have been apart this forum for 9 years, it provides great information. I prefer to post and wait as to being on hold with a government institution. Is that ok? Unfortunately some here that have nothing positive to say choose to lash out with their negative assumptions without knowing the background.
Reread your earlier posts a few times and see what value it had other than a shot at someone you dont know and facts you also do not know.

The 10 year passport may have been around for 7 years, but 5 years ago you would not qualify if your previous passport was lost or stolen, tried it, didn't work! Do I also need to explain the story behind what happened to my previous passport as well Melphis?

I have many pages with 4 stamps so 36 pages should be enough for most everybody.

I am filling out the online version of the "Adult Abroad Simplified Renewal Passport Application" In the section under "References" of which 2 are required, it also states that neither can be used as your Guarantor (Therefore indicating that a Guarantor IS also required). Now the "kicker" there is no section on this app for the Guarantor t fill out.
I see in embedded in the General Application as a section but nothing on the "Simple version". FYI I have enough people for the refs and the guarantor, so that isn't an issue.
Has anyone recently solved this or maybe Im overlooking something.

I reached someone in SD Embassy. They say the simplified version does not need a Guarantor, only 2 references- the mention of "cannot use a guarantor as a reference" is an error on the app. You can pay by cash at the Embassy, 10 year is 9400dop or 260CDN.

Just as a side note, make sure if you're applying in the DR you use the form for Canadians abroad or they won't accept it.
