I BELIEVE IT WAS HIS EMPLOYEE WHO WAS ROBBED ...I said name the bar where it happened

There could be legal complications for DR1, which is why the poster also has to supply their own legal name, address and phone info in that post. Kittu is being prudent.

I'm sure if you went to Kittu's Restaurant and sat down and had a nice bowl of curry and asked him personally which bar it was he was referring-to, he'd (man to man, man to woman) tell you, rather than blasting that information over the Internet. It's just simply prudent, as stated by AlterEgo.

No one has yet commented on the Video , which in the DR always seems to just get erased ( looped) or is just not available when something goes down..
Like when you really NEED it..
Happened to me recently..with a Hotel that steals guests money out of the safe.

What exactly is the purpose of these *****ing cameras ? , if the Video is just never available when you need it ??
You truly are on your own in the DR. Sometimes we just need a good reminder of that , lest we forget.

Forget the name and just be careful to any bar you go. It's all i can say! Also as i mentioned, the fault is also my employee's as he shouldn't have gone alone not knowing what life is all about in this world. It's a pity!

You are probably RIGHT..
But its not that hard to drug someone , esp when they been drinking.. there was a rash of " roofie" drugging a little while back , I think 2010 11

Also , from my own experience, did you ever get a pain killer from your doctor, and wake up like 2 PM the next day... a day you were SUPPOSED to be at work, at like 9 am, and you slept right through the alarm and all.
yeah.. it has happened to all us, in the most innocent of situations ..

Now add Alcohol, even just 2 drinks to any of those drugs ..
its not so hard to drug someone without them even knowing it.

and usually waking up in the afternoon, after sleeping like 14 + Hours straight , is a pretty darn good indicator..
Maybe that is what tipped off the old man , that plus all his Stuff is gone ..

Can you give me the name of this pain killer. I just got back from Thailand and would kill for a 14 hour sleep.

LMAO...
it was given to me by my a dentist.. after an Abcess, Root canal Operation.. ( Endodontist/ Specialist actually, not regular Dentist ), 3 people worked on me as I recall.
2 may have been students.. I will try to look it up.. this was circa 1994 though.. it may be hard for me to find it.

And do you think DR government cares?
Recently a friend of mine, foreigner, was drugged and robbed at a prominent bar in Bavaro by prostitutes hanging out at that bar! Went to the police and they asked the victim to get the video footage which the bar didn't have so the police said they cannot help. This is not the first case in that bar and No my friend wasn't looking for hookers, these ladies came and chat with him and insisted he invite them for a drink.
government doesn't give a damn as to what happens to foreigners.

There are no prominent bars in Bavaro!

I'm not saying that it never happens, but I have a hard time believing that it happens as much as fear mongers will tell you.

I agree it isn't hard to drug a drink at all. It's one of the reasons that it gets blown out of proportion. The thing about is that roofies or any drug costs money or has value if sold.

So instead of selling the stuff, I'm going to take it to the bar and slip it to a gringo and hope they don't pass out in the bar or street where someone will see and I'll get nothing. It's not a safe bet for most desperate people.

Have many of these "I got drugged" stories end with "and the next day, I went to the hospital and got tested and it turns out I was slipped X drug". I've never heard one.

I'm not saying it's impossible, difficult, or never happens. I just think it's a overused scapegoat for when someone doesn't want to say I got sloppy drunk with a bunch o' whores. Just sayin.

No, why, for who?

For people who want to just go have a drink with friends and not pestered by prostitutes and drug dealers? I am sure there are a lot of people who would love to spend time with their friends having couple of beers, brugal and ambience. Am sure not every gringo who comes here is looking for some 'white' or hookers! I have people always looking for a decent place to hang out and have some drinks in the evening and there is none here!i mean a decent one.

Try Las Terrazas in Cocotal. You may be surprised.

It is the more likely scenario but not one I would be eager to tell my boss. Probably why the cops aren't taking it seriously.
