When I was living down there the Metro L2 (going east) ended at the river/ Edwardo Brito station.
I still have my old plastic metro card with the map on the back showing the last stop.
I used to hate having to take the buses, conchos and gua guas in traffic in SDE.
The line extension opened up a few months after I left the Capital.
Looks good.
Thanks for sharing.

OPRET says they are considering to have one line goes all way to SD Airport which doesn't show on the proposed map.

I thought that line was confirmed, it's going to run right alongside the 27 Febrero when it's finished isn't it?

The three main lines of the Metro were suppose to be built and in operation right now. This isn't the case because of Danilo Medina. The entire time traffic jams in SD got worse and it appears that's the only direction of this problem.

No argument but what did Danilo specifically do or not do to cause this? Inquiring minds...

From Listin Diario:

Next Friday, April 28, when the clock strikes 10:00 in the morning, the inauguration of the Cable Car in the Los Alcarrizos municipality will be a work that will give light to hundreds of thousands of community members who live there.
The project so longed for by residents of that town is awaiting the traditional "ribbon cutting", while some workers, under the supervision of engineers, are giving the final touches in the vicinity of the "Puente Blanco" station.
The delivery date was confirmed by the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, during an interview on March 22.
Residents of that demarcation have expressed their satisfaction with the construction of the work.
"That is (cable car) the best there is, because it is progress for the neighborhood and we should all be grateful for it," said Julián Antonio Gil, a resident of Los Alcarrizos for 64 years.
"It is very important, because it influences transportation, since many blockages are generated here and with the cable car they will be reduced," stressed the community member, who was enthusiastic about the new infrastructure.
This urban mobility system will have four stations: the first in Los Alcarrizos, starting from the entrance to the sector on the Duarte highway; the second in Las Toronjas, the third in Puente Blanco, and the fourth in Los Americanos.
Scope
Likewise, it will cover a distance of 4.20 kilometers in 15 minutes, with 163 cabins for a capacity of 4,500 passengers per hour.
For Jonathan Pérez, another resident of that town, the Cable Car is a "success", since, according to his impressions, the work will greatly improve transportation.
“It will work very well. But, even more, when the Metro is finished. 100 percent will be given by that Metro, that is totally a success. Los Alcarrizos will change completely”, Pérez said with remarkable emotion.
He also indicated that its operation "would greatly save money and time."
"From the entrance of Los Alcarrizos to here to Los Americanos is 45 or 50 minutes in transit, while with the Cable Car it would be 10 or 15 minutes, maximum," explained the community member.
The infrastructure is integrated into line 2-C of the Santo Domingo Metro (MSD), Los Alcarrizos section to Luperón avenue, which, according to Joel Santos, would be ready by 2024.
Some workers work on the placement of metal supports on the multiple piles found along the Juan Pablo Duarte highway. They also carried out welding work on the piles (columns), of which some 13 were waiting for the concrete to be poured.
In a perimeter of the infrastructure, a mechanical shovel cleaned a space that had been demolished yesterday, as part of the eviction process to carry out the work carried out by the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET), the entity in charge of the project.
The other face
Elvis Morillo, organization secretary of the "Soprochocapro" public car route that goes to kilometer 9 of the Duarte highway, said that they, including the drivers, do not benefit from the Cable Car, since they will be forced to comply with restrictions of government authorities.
However, he clarified that "we are not opposed to modernity and things that benefit our sector, but, in reality, they have never taken us into account."
“We carriers are in the air, actually. And more than ten drivers benefit from the transport in this municipality, because there are some 38 public transport routes here. We are orphans,” Morillo said.
For his part, Francis Nelson Linares, responsible for controlling the route, explained that the State restricts them from reaching kilometer 9 of the Duarte highway, after the Metro is ready.
"They are going to execute rules so that people have the option of them and not of us, because the State is going to corner us so that we get to the corner they want," said the carrier.

First, he rode the metro as president and said he was impressed, that he now supports the metro. Keep in mind it had existed for years and he never went once, not even to see it.

Second, he said he supports the metro, but never did nothing to it. No extension of any line, no building of a new line. He focus on the teleférico,.which doesn’t carry as many people as the metro.

It’s 2023 and the first line was inaugurates in 2008. Panama City started to design and build its own metro after sending a delegation to see the Dominican metro. In less time, the Panama City metro is more developed than the Dominican one. Its ridiculous, not on the part of the Panamanians but on the part of the Dominicans. Regarding recently built metros, slower than Dominicans are the Puerto Ricans who only built one line and then wonder why not many people use their metro. A big mystery with one line. But PR has been in an economic crisis sin 2006 and for a time even has a government shutdown, the DR hasn’t been in an economic crisis lasting that long and DR doesn’t what its like for the government to shutdown due to running out of money.

Two bus stations in Santo Domingo?? Only one proper bus station for interchange has been built and that adjoins Parque del Este and is not operating. However if you are referring to the bus terminal of Caribe Tours and the other bus terminal of Metro and Caribe Tours is slightly closer to the airport but still can take over one hour by taxi to arrive there from the airport, depending on the time of day . Between 6 and 10 in the weekday mornings when it is a nightmare trying to cross the bridge over Rio Ozama it could take almost two hours .

NAL is gaining a reputation as a champion of mis information .As most people know, Danilo was President from 2012 to 2020 and if you look at the history of the Line 2 of the metro you will see that the work on the extension of Line 2 and the inauguration of the extension occurred within the time that Danilo was President . As for the extension of any line to go through Santo Domingo Este to the Airport , I have never seen any official proposal of this ,but maybe there is one . Personally I think that it would be better to somehow utilise the dormant Interchange bus station with an extension of the Line that goes past mega Centro. I would much prefer priority investment in Electricity and Water supplies.

There are 2 Caribe Tours stations and I've used both. Las Americas is less than 10 km from the airport. The other on 27 de Febrero is probably closer to 35 km away. You need to check the Caribe Tours website to see where each of them go. For example, you can't go to Dajabon from the Las Americas station.

In relation to whether Danilo ever used the Metro, it is a sad commentary on society today in many countries that no public figure can use public transport because of the huge cost of providing adequate security . The two cases that spring to mind and which were well reported of public figures attempting to use public transport were Gordon Brown ,the Labour Prime Minister in UK and John Howard the Conservative PM in Australia. These proposed travels were quickly stopped by the Security Chiefs. .On the other hand , and it shows the great respect that the British had for Queen Elizabeth ,she regularly traveled in a public train from London to Norfolk .Of course she was not a politician and, if Moderators will excuse the diversion, it does show the the advantages of having a Non political person as Head of State.
