Actually, he does have quite a sense of humour, but it is a dry witty type of humour, almost British-like, although I detect no British in him.
I heard a rumour that he used to write scripts for Monty Pithon.

On a different note, the question should be why are there so many DR1 members becoming investigators lately?

I don't think DR1 members are becoming investigators lately - rather the crimes are coming closer to the areas DR1 members live, work, and play in!
Makes us want to know what is hapening in our environs and what the local law enforcement agencies are doing about it!
