I thought of putting this in the living section but I really think that it belongs here
from today's DR1 News which many posters .. mea culpa.. do not read every day
Sad numbers
A total of 43 women have been killed in three months. In the month of March alone, 19 women were killed in the Dominican Republic. The average age of the victims was 26. One of the most recent victims, who was just 21 was shot dead by a 47-year old man in Villa Tapia, along with her aunt who was also murdered. An article in Hoy newspaper says that the most violent provinces are Santo Domingo, Santiago and Puerto Plata. Most of the women were killed by their former husbands or partners, and five were killed by their husbands. Most were stabbed to death. ///

I think that ANY woman who gets involved with a Dominican man has to understand this reality.. There is something VERY machisto about the men here. Even my Colombian women friends have found that to be true about the men here.
No matter WHAT they tell you.. they are extremely entitled.
To have their way.. To do whatever.
They are spoiled and coddled by their mothers, like Italians... the puer eternas...
and think it their right to have both their way with however many women as they want and to be waited on hand in foot.
now.. this may be your cup of tea..
and you may find one that you can train to suit you....
