That's also my experience: not many girls in Bayahibe :-(
As for the AI's, don't know if it was already mentioned, but there's also the Dreams La Romana with 10 min walk from Bayahibe. Havn't been inside, but nice beach and pool.

Invite amigas from Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macoris or La Romana. :classic:

Mark Anthony was at discoteca Babylon in La Romana: Marc Anthony disfruta noche en discoteca de La Romana - Qui?n | M?s Vip

For nightlife when I was staying in Dominicus, I drove into La Romana. Alto Rango is another disco in La Romana. Urban, Tony, Profesionales, Marynelli's are some others. Good street signs in La Romana, with an arrow on the street name sign showing direction of traffic.

I was in La Romana the night before the last Presidential elections and La Romana was super quiet (Pure Disco in Bayahibe was open that night).

With the new Coral Highway, Punta Cana is about 45 minutes to La Romana, Bayahibe to Punta Cana should be slightly less.

Higuey was a fun town at night.

I haven't been in Bayahibe during high season, probably a lot more tourists. Most of the tourists seem to be from Europe.

Lots of guaguas as Annie mentioned alongside and near Park Enriquillo. If you know Zona Colonial, at Calle Duarte and El Conde walk north (you will pass the Palacio Hotel), eventually reach Chinatown, cross Avenida Mexico, walk up the hill and you will see the guaguas, there are guagua stations in that area (it will be a long walk, partly uphill if you start out at el conde and duarte). Lots of stores and an open air book fair alongside and near Park Enriquillo.

You'll probably want an express guagua from Santo Domingo to San Pedro de Macoris, cost is about 100 pesos one way. There is a guagua station in San Pedro de Macoris, just past the monument. From there, another express guagua to La Romana. In La Romana there is a guagua station just before the main traffic light. From La Romana to Bayahibe there will be guaguas. In Bayahibe you can hop on a moto for the short ride to the Catalonia Gran Dominicus or other hotel or lodging in Dominicus. Taxis there too.

Orbitz has a 20% off promo code now "BYEBYE20". I checked the Catalonia Gran Dominicus for October using that promo code, price for three nights for two people, room, all you can eat food and drink was $303US total.

The ride from Santo Domingo to San Pedro de Macoris is about an hour, after Boca Chica the highway is tranquil. From San Pedro de Macoris to La Romana about 45 minutes. La Romana to Bayahibe 20-25 minutes. Express guaguas are faster and don't make a bunch of stops.

Video of part of the highway between San Pedro de Macoris and Boca Chica, flat, straight, 4 lanes with a double guardrail separating the opposite lanes of traffic, sea views on part of the road:

Thanks for the promo code! Saved 50$ for 2 nights!

I am leaving for Bayahibe tomorrow I booked at the cadaques even tho theres some bad review, mostly due to staff and people complaining theres not much too do around.

Since I am only looking for a confortable place to sleep with this hotel i think its gonna be good enough, gonna drive around, relax at the beach and go to to the isla saona, my first time there so hopefully i will enjoy it!

The Hotel Bayahibe is in a very central location. We payed
$72 per nite. Free breakfast, buffet or ala carte at don claras.
This is where the boats take off.
There are also loungers provided a the public beach of
Bayahibe. No safes in the room, but you could sign for
Items to be stored at hotel safe. Access between 8am to
4pm. So you can carry some cash and c.c. and secure
Your expensive stuffs.
Cabanas touristico is next door, and cheaper. U thibk
They have parking too.
The public beach next to Dreams is pretty messy, but
You can get dorado frito and a side for $10. The beach feels off,
Like its man made or altered in some way.
Now over at dominicus, you will have a better beach experience.
Cleaner and more natural. The eden hotel is cheap at $45
And the have a pool and lunch for a fee. The public beach is a 5 minute
Walk.or from a borrowed bike.
You could stay at the viva, on the cheap some times, and eat out
When you want to. Public beach is next door and they have some decent
Water sports.
As for action like up north or in boca chica, its more rated pg13
In these parts.
I like visiting this area, bayahibe village is easy to get around, looks like a
Good community of people without the seediness of other areas of the DR.

Some restaurants run by Italians in Dominicus, pizza was good. There is a small supermarket/bakery/liquor store in Dominicus owned by I believe a European. For more selection there is a large Jumbo Supermarket/Department store in La Romana.

I've only been to the gate of Cadaques.

Cadaques seems to be a condo development where some of the apartments are rented out. There are apartments for sale in Cadaques and I would guess some people live there full time.

Different types of excursions to isla saona, catamarans, ponga type boats. You can book through an excursion office or book directly with the owner of a boat. I have no experience doing excursions from Bayahibe

Dive shop on the left when you drive into Bayahibe.

Beaches are public in the DR, so you should be able to walk past the all inclusive hotels using the beach. Cadaques is the most south easterly property from the Dominicus lighthouse. Somewhat adjacent to cadaques is the Be Live All Inclusive Hotel, then the Catalonia then the Iberostar, then the public beach with shops and restaurants, then two Viva all inclusive hotels. The dreams all inclusive hotel is a bit further away.

Massage places in Dominicus and Bayahibe.

I'll try to post some pics of Boca de Yuma about 20-25 minutes from Bayahibe. Different types of cattle grazing in the fields will be seen when you drive to boca de yuma (quiet fishermen village).

If you are driving from Santo Domingo, you might want to stop at Jumbo La Romana, on the way, to buy basic food items, juice, coffee, snacks etc, that you can have in the apartment at cadaques. Should be full kitchens in the apartments at cadaques.

Park Enriquillo, Santo Domingo (about two blocks up from Chinatown) and due north of zona colonial (calle duarte north from el conde, will take you into Chinatown).

Guaguas (minibuses) for points east can be found near Park Enriquillo. Several large department stores also near Park Enriquillo.

First baseball stadium in the DR, was on the site of where Park Enriquillo is today.

Did some searching on Trip Advisor and decided that I wanted the Iberstar.. Got some interesting prices. From the Hotel website.. as in iberostar.com.. ended up the cheapest.. 4 nights, two persons. 664. ,

Kayak, 694, Hotwire and Orbitz, 747, and Cheap Carribbean 746.

so the online dealers are not always the best!

Checked with my local cabbie who said it would be 3500 DOP to take us out there. Same to pick us up.

Think we may take the guagua out for the adventure and the call the car for the home ride so as not to lose the mellow.

Have been to the Royal Catalonia in Punta Cana and was not so thrilled. And the one in Bayahibe did not get such great reviews so thought it worth the extra bucks.. maybe. Will see.

I am sure you will enjoy the Iberostar, I have always wanted to stay at one of their hotels.

Iberostar Hotels look very nice. A relative stayed at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro and probably paid close to $400US per night, her and her daughter loved the place.

I have stayed at the Catalonia in the past with a family member, so we split the cost of the room. A clean bed and room, good service, friendly other guests, nice pool and beach, meals, for what amounts to about $60US per person. Catalonia Gran Dominicus is not super fancy.

Orbitz has promo codes for vacation packages, air and hotel, that can save people money.

Good site for discount codes: http://www.retailmenot.com/

BYBYE20 promo code on Orbitz will save you 20% on hotels on Orbitz. Nice thing about the all inclusive hotel rates, they include the taxes.

Some of the guasguas are very nice. Expresso Bavaro buses from Santo Domingo to Bavaro/Punta Cana are supposedly very nice.

I don't know much more about transportation options from Santo Domingo to La Romana and Bayahibe. There are tour companies that use vans. I have seen airline personnel picked up at the airport with some of those vans.
