Not to steal the thread, but can a person on temporary residency go direct to citizenship without first going to permanent residency if they are married to a Dominican? I could have went directly to permanent residency under the current rules.

It lists all the requirements for the application for citizenship by a man married to a Dominicana. One of the requirements is a copy of a provisional residency with at least six months of validity remaining. So, no need for permanent residence before applying for citizenship.
