I don't know OP..there is interest here on the programs your proposing. My neighbors girls have attended Central Danza?? ( Sandoval?) here in Santo Domingo for awhile. At Navidad I went to see them dance (they invited me). There is definitely an interest. Boarding I am not so sure of. I wish you the best.

This to me reads that I was able to spark enough emotions and action within you to make a statement, your word is important in this community and has been heard by many......so sound off with your years of experience in why this idea sucks!

I read each post and answer so I'm not badgering just want challenge you to a clear concise opinion!

I was responding to another posters comment, not your proposed performing arts school.

As for the performing art school...

This board is by far the best source of knowledge for "newbies" in the DR, supported by some very experienced posters. Reach out to those that you feel can help you and ignore the rest. Simple!

Network, network, network for the next 12 months in the DR, learn who's who, how the school system works, the class culture and visit as many schools and chat with as many "owners" as possible. You are going to face a lot of challenges like any new "foreigner" based business in the DR, so 12 months of hardcore, focused due diligence will pay you back, big time!
If after the above exploratory period all the right boxes are ticked, go for it.

Now this sounds like a plan we are planning our year of visits to DR !

Awesome idea, we have some land by the airport and would love to build a school there or something for the community involving the arts. I wish you success.

What is your projected budget for your school????????????

CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
We are currently researching private school expenditures per child in DR. In the US we spend substantially more per student in a non-religious private school around 38,000 even when tuition is only 32,000... We are in the process of researching and calculating our own cost based on a fully sustainable and eco -friendly school.

Thanks Keep coming...the US has taken so many Arts programs out of schools since the 70's but not every student wants to me a manager at a hedge fund in NY. We just want to make sure children of the arts have an exceptional education and can do what they love! I see if those schools have a web page or a FB page and check them out.

At even half of those prices, you would be talking to the DR's elite.

Oh I completely agree..... But its 10 times easier to get public information about about cost per student in the US than in the Caribbean....guess I gotta get bold and just ask straight forward.... Would anyone like to share the cost per child in a private message of course???:D

Or share publicly, no need to hide the prices is there?
I cant even find prices on the individual websites of the private school...the only thing is the application process...why would I fill out an application to a place I can't afford ...I suppose the competition is different in business over in DR but I would think parents considering the school should know if it is within the budget

OK what? I suggested people who know the amount post it on here as well or instead of just PM'ing you.
