Blue Collar Town in New Jersey
WRONG.

Too many stories about a regular couple getting accused of being whore and John.

it never happens to me , i only date nice girls....

lmao

I agree. I know a lovely young Dominicana, law degree and works in that field, but when she goes out at night with her boyfriend I have to SMH at her attire. I could see someone mistaking their relationship.
nah, its not the clothes.. imo, she does not have to worry about a thing.. not at all

they know by the body language...
Dominicans are quite good at reading body language..

Tell me why Sosua cannot adapt to the models of Las Terrenas or indeed Cabarete? You need the middle class Dominicans to come at weekends for sure.

Of course it can adapt, but the business owners should not cry after it has adapted:

sum(money to spend) available to US/CA and others >[order of magnitude]> sum(money to spend) by Dominican middle class

Also, people go to spots because of a certain reason and Sosua can not offer what Cabarete or Las Terrenas has (just compare the activity options or take a look at the beach). Applying the same model when you have different circumstances is typically a bad idea.

Cabarete
Here is that answer: No prostitute can enter a bar in Cabarete alone (without a man).

Are you joking here? I can name you at least three bars in the centre of Cabarete where girls can go unaccompanied, as long as they can show ID to prove they aren't underage.

I was in Sosua on Tuesday night at about 10.30, having a drink on Pedro Clisante. The barriers were down so it was civilised with no motos flying around. The only problem was that it was completely dead - hardly anyone around to enjoy the new environment. A few girls were dodging the CESTUR and when one of them came up to me I refused her offer, so she asked me for 100 pesos to go to Cabarete, because there was no business in Sosua.

Gaby and I flew into Santiago. Went to a hotel in the monument district and when checking in, the lady asked for her cedula. Of course Gaby was livid. I stepped in quickly and told Gaby to pay for the room with her gold card and USVI driver license. Smoothed things out quickly. However AE, Gaby still dresses like a chica with her nails and hair included. I think they all do, always will, and there is nothing we can do about it. The term "Conservative" doesn't exist with Dominicanas.

I certainly stand corrected. I admit if I make a mistake. Any woman can go any where in Cabarete any time they want.

Now back to controlling the prostitutes in Sosua.

half of the views is probably me, keeping an eye on my children.

"Sex Sells", doesn't it?

And that is just what the powers that be are trying to stop in a manner of speaking.

Now back to driving those hookers indoors whether it works out for the better or not.

"Despite the efforts made, still there is problem, there is a new offensive for us with the Ministries of Tourism and Interior and Police with the hope to provide better results to eradicate prostitution in this important tourism zone , "said Attorney General
Dominguez Brito.

Yes the problem is Colonel Clink that there are NO JOBS!!!! So now you take away the only thing the girls can do to support their families WITHOUT A ALTERNATIVE!! Crime will now rise like NEVER before. Tax dollars will stop flowing. All businesses will close. This is not a Plan!! Its the Gov't officials that make this Truly a BANANA REPUBLIC!

i think those apocalyptic predictions are greatly exaggerated.

there is a recently elected diputada who used to be a prostitute. she hopes to revolutionize government's approach to combating prostitution. she's already proven to be very effective in her role as a regidora, by opening learning centres to teach hos news skills and help them leave pu**y trade and move on to regular jobs.

http://www.diariolibre.com/noticias...revolucionar-el-congreso-dominicano-AC4271398

looks like an approach that can work. prostitution will never be eradicated but it can be reduced and the ladies of the night can move to better jobs and better lives. small steps.

This however was recently posted on Facebook Everything Cabarete:

Spoke to the cestur Sargent moments ago. Cabarete will stay at 3 but known working girls cannot enter the beach unless they're escorted by a client.

I have been saying it for years, every time this discussion starts again.
The investors don't want the monger in Sosua. In the past when the Internet wasn't around and you had more European ( mostly German ) it wasn't in your face as much.
Times have changed, Sosua is being marketed to retires and extended vacations/snow birds. That's the direction. I feel that without the guys looking for fun in the slow season it's going to be difficult for a while.
I believe this government action isn't going away, it will just ebb and flow.
Just my opinion, I don't see the rates at pop coming down until they lower the amount of mongers coming in from the U.S.A..

What's on the menu? Maybe we can help.

I'd love me some good wonton and shrimp toast in Sosua.

Lol, 500 posts in about 15 minutes. Clearly a sensitive issue.

So, the short term solution for the businesses in the "trade" would be to open two hours earlier than usual?

I imagine the scene will retreat to small bordellos, and be far less in your face, assuming anything happens long term.

An obnoxious tourist is an obnoxious tourist is an obnoxious tourist. Doesn't really matter if he's some AA "making it rain" in a club, or some German manhandling a woman who could easily be his granddaughter to the short-time motel.

I've seen both, didn't much care for either. Boorish behavior and mistreating women is a bad look, regardless of where you come from.

The last time I was in the DR, the club was packed like sardines, loud, and just unpleasant. I responded by going somewhere else, and had a really great time (even meeting the legendary Frank12).

I hope whatever becomes of the North Coast will benefit all parties. It really seems like it would be a perfect location for retirees and longer-term snowbirds. Seems like ecoman's deal (three months in an AI at costs greatly below that of being in a decent Florida active living community) could work on a much larger scale.

Which business is yours?

While it is true there are no jobs for women with no skills, the DR government wants no prostitution and is not worried about where the prostitutes find their next jobs.
