I know this is about Puerto Plata weather, but don't forget about the rest of the Western part of the country.
Santiago is heavily overcast with intermittent rain showers throughout the night and so far today.
From viewing the "hurricane display" map, it would appear thet the ENTIRE Western part of the country is getting hammered also.
Heavy rains in the Northern Central Cordellera indicate that there will be plenty of flooding along the Masacre, the Yaque del Norte, and other tributaries from that area, so we can expect extensive flooding as a result in the Monte Cristi , Manzanillo, and other environs. There will also be the same scenario in their hinterlands.
HANNA is sitting just to the East of Great Inagua and is pumping moisture into both the DR and Haiti at a terrific rate if one is to interpret the IR map correctly.
