Please don't give Kelly a hard time. She made a fair and valid point. This forum is about anything to do with HV including weddings, room types, facilities, food etc etc and so maybe there shouldn't be postings about excursions, weather and so on. But I am happy to read all the posts even though they are sometimes not to do with the HV - it gives you a feel for the whole place and you get to know people.

switch

Unfortunately with all the bad reviews we have been recieving we decided to switch hotels to bahia principle. The killer was the overflowing toilets/ sewage problem, people getting sick and hurt, and lack of hot water. :(
if you have not switched yet don't. My friends stayed at the bahia last year and it was the worst time they ever had. thier room flooded so bad when it rained that they were literally afraid the water was going to hit the electrical outlets. The beds were uncomforterabel and the food made them sick.

Wow - I obviously touched a nerve with a few people.

Let's get some clarity - I am not the moderator here. I am simply the person who has posted dozens of times, answered as many questions as I can, been to the hotel lots and called the hotel and reps multiple times.

My point in asking you to go private is when the details you are getting into apply to very few people reading this thread. It gets bogged down - just like it did with hockey - with things that do not apply to most. IF it is about weddings - no issue - if it is about details and details then please either go private or start your own thread.

Here is another point - that wedding thread will apply to everyone getting married at all the other hotels too! You will do a bigger service to others on this board!

I am sorry if you think it is inappropriate for me to post 2 lines or 4 lines about chocolate or newpapers of dancing. IF you don't like it quite frankly I don't care! I have offered information and advice and hospitality. The price of admission is a newspaper and school supplies for the kids.

NOw to answer the questions:

Beds - right now you cannot count on beds being changed. I am told you can get a single bed added to the Royal Suites and later there will be a pull out couch. BUT, 2 single guys - I am thinking this won't work real well for you.

Happy HOlidays - feel free to contact me about meeting up. Email or PM me.

# of standard rooms and suites - check the website please.

Day Pass - I was told that they were available to those who were booked and changed. We can look into it once you are here.

Beach Party - yes they have one but I don't know what night it is . I believe that it happens every 2 weeks. They also have one night where they bring in a local dance troup of typical Domincan dancing and music. Don't miss that it is well worth seeing.

Gopher - you have been told that your two adjoining rooms are booked. Could it be changed? Yes. BUT I hope they give you what you booked! IF not we can get the rep to help you out.

I was at the hotel last evening again talking with a couple of guests. THey have had a wonderful holiday and will post after they return home. One other guest told me his problem was he ate and drank so much he didn't think he would be able to get into his pants to go home.......

You better check with planner first before you post about your honeymoon as we no longer talk about weddings. Really anthing to do with HV should be on this site because even thought I didn't get married there last week that doesn't mean that I wouldn't have information for someone who is & I'm not going to be going onto a wedding thread so therefore they loseout on the info of anyone who has been there.

soccer

Does anyone know any info about the soccer program they offer? I wanted to know if you have to book it prior to your trip or can you book it when you get there? Also on the video they show tramplies, are these for all children to use or do you have to sign up for the kids program? Is there added costs to these? One more thing... is the monster truck safari a full day or half?

We have an 8 year old doing the soccer school for two days. We prebooked it as we were told it would cost more to book it at the resort. When are you going, we leave tomorrow for two weeks.

Hey Guys,

My feet are a little better today. Although i almost couldn't stand up this morning when i awoke. Guess I needed to get used to it. We just got back from the "dune buggy" adventure. Wow !! Half day so you can still enjoy the rest at the hotel. You get into a couple of dominican villages. Kick Ass. Very VERY dirty, but man its fun.

Planner - You have been getting some heat here on the forums. I am with you 100%. You have done SO much for this forum and the 100's if not 1000's of people that view it. So to the people that are throwing virtual sticks at her, stop !!!. It's no fun being on the receiving end, especially when she can easily stop answering any questions that are out ther.

I still havn't met planner, but if the worlds don't meet this time, I will meet her at some point as I plan on being in this country again.

Time to get drunk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meet alot of guys down here that want to light it up atarting about now :):)

Cya Everyone.

Still having fun. Come down and make the best of your vacation. Remember only YOU can make your vacation great.

Ron

I'm with Ron (as always hunnybunch ;P)

Stop abusing Planner, she is an awesome source of information!! Please dont abuse her. I would venture to guess that some of yall that are beating her up have (or will) use some of the info she has given. She did not mean to cause hurt feelings... so please grow up.

Hi zwinky - can you tell me how much you paid for the outback safari & the horsedrawn carriage ride?

Anyone - not heard any reviews on the cinema, fitness classes & dance lessons - can anyone comment? Are they available as advertised?

Wavelenghth - What are the names of the reps? My kids are dying to know if any from our last 2 holidays will be there.

Ocean World - when is the best time to go? How much does it cost? Is lunch included?

Being nasty and catty is not required! You have something specific to say about weddings and THIS hotel put is here. Why on earth would you not go to the wedding thread and help everyone out? OR are you just trying to be difficult?
