Any predictions I made, a la Seinfeld?, were based upon the non-official documents published by a DR government agency that are available for viewing on this forum, but were retracted.

Pressure by business has accelerated that schedule in regards to what the president recently announced.

As to the schedule being accurate, that remains to be seen. I cannot predict how big the next waves of C-19 will be.

one of the worst outcomes of the 9/11 disaster is that airline employees got free rein to talk down to and be rude to airline passengers all in the name of security. It has improved , but I still see them berating people mostly the ones that sit in coach. With modern tech (thank god) its not necessary to ask about connecting flights.

I have to admit i missed this one, fond it just now.
so, aside of the 4 phases,
some things will stay closed til August 24th,
like PLAYAS, Cines etc etc.
my first understanding was, that with phase 4 All would be back open.

For the beaches there is no date yet... On the bottom of your link it says:

También continúa prohibido el acceso a playas, piscinas y todo tipo de balnearios públicos, sin una fecha específica para su reapertura.
The access to the beaches, pools and all balnearios (public pools? river or so) without any specific date for reopening.

Would be interesting if they open the airports and hotels but you are not allowed to go to the beach!

Why everybody is talking about July 5th as the date for opening the hotels and airports?
According the plan from the government it should be July 1th...

Fase 4 Miercoles 1. de Julio.

Fase 4 Miercoles 1. de Julio.

You are picture the graph is different from the explanation underneath.

While the pic says july 1st, which shows, imho, that they don't really have a definitive date.

That with the entry of legal residents is interesting to find out. If we are legal permanent residents is it not our right to enter the country. I was in Miami on a visit and flew back the 18th of March the day before the national emergency started. I was actually lucky to get on a flight the 18th as I just went to the airport. First they said there where no seats and I was booked on the 19th but I asked again and then got on the same day. So I was lucky. I was using a return ticket I had for April and AA was very flexible.
Yeah not saying it’s a right. The country is gonna do what it’s gonna do. I actually flew back March 13 just before they shut down the borders. My friends from Canada flew down March 19 and were refused entry upon arrival even tho the airport said they could fly down and enter earlier back at the Canadian airport. Rolls yo dice, takes yo chances

All BS...

the coordinated openings times - 7-8-9am - are singularly for the SD public transportation system

The rest of the country can ignore it -- and does it seems... at least where I am they do

one size fits all ===== doesn't !!!
where i live the businesses did not even wait til wednesday/today to reopen.
on monday morning almost every single tienda ofany size all along the miles of the main road been open and busy.
and exactly that behavior of businesses and customers may become the reason when todays known planned dates for the reopenings/phases etc, will be resheduled.
and if they reshedule a date, it will sure not be for a couple days, because they again need their 14 days to observe/evaluate the changes/adjustments on the still running old phae, before the next one could kick in then.
i would not be surprised if todays awaited Election Date July 5th would turn in a early august reopening date for phase 4, right n time before august 16th the new government take's over office and the new congressionist are on their seats.
we will see in some more weeks from now.
first,
lets observe the next couple weeks til June 3rd, which should be phase 2 start.

The fare you paid does not necessarily qualify you for a seat on a repatriation flight sponsored by the US government in all cases. In many cases it does not. This is info from last month explaining how wrong you are, yet again, spreading crap here that a few knuckle-draggers or those who aren't aware of you lack of credible sources might believe. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/tourism-cruises/article242071361.html
The title of this article is,"
This is why stranded U.S. citizens have to pay so much for repatriation flights
Stop spreading crap here-you of,"thousands of posts".
but we real people are not much interested in teh always different ways the trumpeters treat their people.
I hold as a prime passport my german one,so i am looking on the way european union members are treated and handled by their government.
of course there nothing was anything perfect, where wuld it have been or be?
but thats the way I look on things.
the 75 years experience of a us stewardess or check in counter luggage clerk is something i can not tell about, not my business, i have no experience nor visions on such.
what us citizens stranded elsewhere have to pay to not be left behind by the greatest, is out of my knowledge and out of my interest.
Karma is a biach and also hits travelers, karma travelers.

You're right, the initial press release did quote the gov as saying at phase 4 it would be "economic normality" - apparently not if you run a disco etc.
yes,
i would even haveunderstood that beaches are open then, as it stated Everything 100% back operational.
but well, some stewardess trainee may have messed up this one on check in when printed in the press, lol.
it anyways may change again and again the next weeks, we will find out for sure one day.

hats exactly where on this todays ännouncements"I see big trouble coming to little caribbean China.
reopen hotels, of course with their Public beaches for visitors(and hey, I love to see all our visitors back, I make zero money if we have no visitors in Punta Cana),
and the same time the Public beaches are Closed for our DR Public/People???
this can not be and will not go this way, they will adjust very soon.
if the beaches are safe for travelers from abroad but NOT for US Here, then there is stuff for the next Revolution, lol
