But there is probably less virus in the crowded tenement in the Republica Dominicana than there is in the visiting tourists country, that was my point, especially if they are coming from the north if you know what I mean, they are in a mess
UK where i'm from has 10,000 new cases a week and we have been getting infections "under control" and that is just the tip of the iceberg as probably at least 80% of cases go undetected because of no symptoms

No, I think tourism will not open up July one. The numbers do not support opening everything up and ESPECIALLY American flights! That's lunicy as the USA is not even close to having anything at all under control.
Good thing the reality of what really happens has nothing to do with what you think

So I just talk to a friend of mine who is a United States citizen and a legal resident of the Dominican. Him and his wife have been stuck in the states for the past couple months and have been waiting for a chance to fly back. They were just allowed back in a few days ago through a chartered plane service the Dominican government has arranged with Spirit Airlines. They had to submit their information to the local Consulate office and then when they got the call to buy their ticket they had to do it immediately and fly out of Miami. They also had to be tested for Covid before they left and to bring the results with them. Once they arrived in the Dominican they were checked physically and then they had to sign an agreement to be in quarantine for two weeks in their home in Jarabacoa. He told me when he arrived down there he asked about future flights with residents and he was told July 1 would be the date Others can fly in without all the hassle he had to go through
Is this for tourists also?

So are you saying here to open up the country?

Is sarcastic slop really the most cogent way to address the epidemic or are you just that elemental?

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Three correct answers for you. A hat trick. 🎩

For those TRULY interested in what type of air travel is occurring within RD right now, try one of the flight tracker websites. When you determine a carrier and flight #, investigate further with that particular airline as to their schedules.
For example, right now in RD airspace, the only "international flight" happens to be a Jet Blue flight from San Juan (SJU) en route to Santo Domingo (SDQ).
There are also 2 private aircrafts, and 2 helicopters in motion. A rather fascinating tool to utilize.

How many country's are NOT having an epidemic? The US is worsening daily.
CV19 is here to stay. Like a fire consuming fuel as it finds it. It will turn into another disease that we just "live with".

many of those flights have few if any passengers on the inbound leg. Open boarder between US & RD will commence 03July.

I just dont see the United States allowing flights to and from RD. NY is recovering with a smart plan thats working and Florida is literally turning into the next epicenter. With RD's cases increasing, it just seems unlikely.

This is your opinion and does nothing to answer the OP question. Just idle gossip.
