the folks will come back..... actually we just need vaccination and they are getting close....for what customers?
first, a vaccine in a year or two will not put a single dime in the hands of broken people without money for purchases.the folks will come back..... actually we just need vaccination and they are getting close....
The vaccine will probably have a limited duration span, but this is not a problem, because there have always been vacccines which require periodical renewal. We'll get used to it.the folks will come back..... actually we just need vaccination and they are getting close....
Considering that DR is a tourist hotspot then creating a medical tourist aspect is a good idea. However Cubans are not making money the Regime is. Doctors get paid dust. The vaccine will probably have a limited duration span, but this is not a problem, because there have always been vacccines which require periodical renewal. The real problem - and there will be no vaccine for it - is the broken economy world wide.
The luxury sector, like recycling failed kings, will always produce profits, but that's only a tiny drop.
The Main Street will get the beating and it hasn't started yet.
Too bad the DR does not have a leadership able to plan years in advance. The politicans suffer from brain cancer called election and re-election. Such systems are doomed to fail. What could have they have done so far? They could have built a large hospital network (the Chinese can teach how to build a hospital under 10 days) for the treatment today and after the worse of COVID is over to turn such network into very profitable product: turismo de salud.
Cubans are making nice money with it, why can't Dominicans?
There is probably 100 different companies producing or working on vaccines so some good option should become available. So much optimism for a vaccine that works. Time will tell, and only time will tell, on that.
Anyone have reliable information on if people that have had CV19 and recovered have been reinfected?
I agree that middle class professionals earn better salaries in the Dominican Republic. The Revolution was not made for them but for those who pay ZERO for hospital treatment. And that's everyone.Considering that DR is a tourist hotspot then creating a medical tourist aspect is a good idea. However Cubans are not making money the Regime is. Doctors get paid dust.
I recon the vaccine will be available here approx. at the same time as in other markets. I say markets not countries because here medicine is considered a merchandise, such as coca-cola or potatoes. So let's say a vaccine is developed and lets say it is effective for some period of time like a year. How long do you think it will be before that vaccine is available here in the DR? The development of a vaccine does not mean that it will be available everywhere anytime soon. The US isn't sharing remdesirvir so they are not going to be sharing a vaccine if they develop one until much much later.
I was just saying that today at a restaurant where I can walk to that I will support them.I will help my favorite businesses to survive in this difficult demanding times of the ultimate challenge for all of us!
And each of us must act likewise!
I don’t think there will be many flights from Europe/UK. With this testing stuff at airport. The mass tourism is over for some time.I think that airlines are as important as a vaccine in determining how soon the country recovers. So many airlines on their knees, the big question is whether they will return to DR in the same numbers as before. Anyone on the north coast knows that the lack of flights coming into Puerto Plata has a huge impact on tourist numbers, and with less airlines potentially coming into Punta Cana this could have a dramatic impact there.
That is a definite maybe. There is probably 100 different companies producing or working on vaccines so some good option should become available.
That depends on how that business is approaching the customer in regards to handling them concerning the virus. Walked out of having a haircut when owner lwt others enter without masks and talking, walking in confined space.I will help my favorite businesses to survive in this difficult demanding times of the ultimate challenge for all of us!

there is no "surcharge".Eliminate this shameful "28% Surcharge" in restaurants. And 33% "charge" for flights from Dominican airports!
Be honest with people who visit your country.
I fear the economy will take at least a decade to recover to prior numbers/positions, and it could be way more.I think that airlines are as important as a vaccine in determining how soon the country recovers.
