I wouldn't be surprised, as with last time, if there are return flights to get interested tourists back home.

It should be a very eventful winter for us all. Hopefully, the vaccines will be safe, and will come as quickly as possible.

I've been wondering when the "more deadly" would be released....
I mean when Covid would mutate and become the new panick
"time to reset" and shut it all down again.

Ladies and gentleman, like I suggested after the 3rd week of this lock down
crap back in April of this year, whatever it takes to keep the world living
in constant fear will become the new normal very soon with or without a
vaccine.

Eventful indeed.
I'm going to get vaccinated at least once a month
for Covid until I die. You should do the same.

Hopefully the existing vaccine(s) prove effective on the new strain as well.
From what I've read, they think it will be. Reportedly, viruses are always mutating, but the idea of a vaccination is to give the body the necessary ability to augment the immune response so as to be effective against most variants.

It'll be interesting to see if it's a one-time vaccination, like smallpox, or if it becomes an annual thing, like the flu vaccine(s).

Too little too late. Tourists from Britain have been coming in though Spain for while, passing though DR airports where there are no testing requirements. Even if they were tested, the tests would show positive or negative, not a specific mutated virus. Canada has shut it airports to UK visitors for 72 hours until the WHO and CDC get better information on the mutated virus. British flights are still allowed to transit through Canada as long as deplaning is not required. Hopefully the UK tourists currently in the DR have been adhering to the proper Covid prevention protocols. Otherwise, I’m sure most people here are familiar with the expression shite through a goose. If the mutation is in the DR and it is a super spreader, expect that effect.

I remember back in April when many politicians in England where
furious about the lack of testing at their national airports. Sounds like
the folks running that country are still learning how tie their shoes and
wipe their rear ends.

You have to forgive them .. If you recall they claimed to have a 15% Mortality Rate .. the only place on the whole planet with such a High death rate from Covid .
So they have a right to be ascared ..

oh wait .. that was not real ?

never mind

Not sure if the airlines can be sued in the event a passenger dies mid-flight due to Covid
but it happened last week on a United Air flight from ORL to LAX. The flight made an emergency
landing in (the best city in America) New Orleans last week.
This may be going a little too far off-topic but can these airline companies be held liable if
people end up getting sick?
This also goes to show that no quick tempt test at the gate is going to catch it before others
are exposed to the sick..... Welcome to Wonderland!

The first two vaccines are very different than previous vaccines. So nobody has any idea what it will take to protect against mutated versions of CV19.
CV19 and its variants will be around from now on. How that is dealt with in the coming years is anyone's guess.

Some wander around the country spreading the more highly contagious mutated virus.
At least if we stop the flights the numbers will be less.
US has hordes of UK visitors and no ban so far.
Virus scientists agree that no reason to think the vaccines will not be effective against this newer variety.

Doctor Fauchi discussing this point today said it is likely to become an annual thing like the flu shot.
No big deal. I get a flu shot each year, one more is fine.
