Now, this is interesting as I had posted here before on the origins of covid 19 could had in effect been from minks and Italy early cases...

Investigators from WHO will now focus on that end since came empty handed from China.
COVID has been circulating earlier than anybody knew at the time. The explosive cases in EU shows a pattern.

15 to 17 million animals died due to mutation of the coronavirus. The keeping of the animals is prohibited by law until the end of 2021.

Due to mutations of the coronavirus, all mink on Danish mink farms are now dead: A few weeks after the relevant ban on keeping them in effect until the end of 2021, the last remaining specimens on the farms have been killed, the responsible food authority Fodevarestyrelsen confirmed on Friday in Copenhagen. However, isolated fur animals may still exist in zoos and as pets.

Covid has taken a toll where we live in San Cristobal (Playa Najayo). We’ve heard about a bunch of deaths, and the latest one hit us hard.

Lovely old lady, a neighbor who Mr AE has known since he was a kid. As a teenager he’d take a bus or get a ride out to the beach for the weekend, and often slept in her house. Her 20-something grandson is a motoconcho and helps us around our property, he’s a hustler. He called to say abuela died. Yes, she was 95, with signs of dementia. She was sweet and unassuming, never asked for a thing. Maybe that’s why we always went out of our way for her. She may have been losing her memory, but she kept yelling at her daughter to wear a mask (daughter was positive), but she ultimately gave it to her mother, who couldn’t fight it off. We’re soooooooo sad.

Same story playing out over and over, with several generations in one house, lack of electricity, no hot water (or water at all sometimes), etc. I’m surprised the numbers aren’t higher in the barrios and campos.

I thought y'all in the DR would appreciate this - I certainly loved the reminder of the wonderful Dominican sense of humor -( how I loved the song & video that they had made on Chikungunya when I suffered from it!) ..."The other day, my father-in-law, who lives in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, sent us a viral image making the rounds in Latin America. It showed a fake beer bottle, emblazoned with a new marketing slogan: “Now with ivermectin.” "

AE - I have a friend here in FL who is from Sto.Dom and an MD who reacted to my posting the WaPo article on my FB page. She said that ivermectin and 4 other drugs are undergoing lots of tests and have been proven to be effective d- asked if I wanted links.

I said "no" since I now have two friends in ICUs with it and am .... well..- not a medical specialist--

But she had never heard of DR1 so I suggested that she sign up and post her links here. Perhaps there are some medical people in the DR who might be interested in the studies.

Hope your family is doing OK.. Sending Light and Love and Prayers..

Came across this today, DR isn’t the only place using ivermectin for Covid. And yet there are so many who poo-poo its use.View attachment 4102

We just need some medical professionals to go on the record with an ivermectin based drug cocktail for prevention and one for treatment. In easy to understand and administer dosages. India's prepackaged kit looks ideal.

Pfizer having good results in Israel. So feel free to take the Indian, Chinese and Russian vaccines, I'll wait until all the success & reactions from all are known from any jabs and go with a more likely cleaner vaccine, which won't be one from India or China.

Mean mink coats will get cheaper. Just didn't come in time for this Valentine's Day, then again I doubt many women could use one in DR unless they visit Jarabacoa

There are many articles on line regarding the stats on Moderna as well. I think that if one went with either one they would be in safe territory.

It has been one week now since I had the second shot of Moderna. No reaction what so ever and getting ready to return to the DR.
Good to know. I had the first Moderna shot a week and a half ago and had not much more than a sore arm. Hoping it is the same for the second.

I was in the US when the virus arrived and have been unable to return since my age and COPD make me vulnerable.

Once vaccinated that should change.

I think that ivermectin was designed to control parasites' in livestock. I wouldn't take it.

If you read about the flu of 1918..one thing stands out...about one a half years into the pandemic when many countries thought it was about over , it mutated. and that mutation was the one that killed the most people, attacked the lungs, and worked very fast causing massive tissue loss and bleeding, death could be in a few days...Just something to think about... not that it would ever happen like that again, the W.H.O. and the C.D.C are well aware of this, Its a good thing that one has to read old history to find that fact and not hear about it in the news.............

Already happening with new mutations in UK, South Africa, etc...
AstraZeneca shot is useless against it by a large margin.
So far Sputnik V is carrying out tests on those newer strains and effectiveness.
But having two adenovirus vectors looks majorly better than all other vaccines.
Let’s wait and see...

Full speed ahead for Ivermectin trials. Either prove it works or it doesn't. It is long since time to know conclusively one way or the other. The anecdotal evidence has been surfacing for quite some time now. If by itself or in combination with other drugs, this might be a game changer for both treatment and prevention. It's time to know for sure.

I agree CG.

I'd love to see the island reach the point where you can pick up the combo blister packs at a pharmacy.
