The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, said at the beginning of the week that the occupancy rate was around 95 percent.
For this holiday, the Punta Cana-Bavaro destination has an average occupancy rate of 88.2%, surpassing the average occupancy rate in 2019, the year before the Covid-19 pandemic when it was 85.4%

When it's the administration's top priority...
should we be surprised?
Not at all.

Certainly semana santa is an active week.

Be even more surprised though if the numbers/figures they post are accurate. They have a vested interest...........that does not always tend to be accurate and it certainly has not been reflected on the many webcams in Punta Cana/Bavaro region so far this week.

Thanks for the link to the cam. Currently one person cleaning the pool and another person pretending to jog.

I do not believe they have any, or they turned them off for semana santa..............might scare the tourists away lol.

There are a number of cameras that I can view....................and none of them showed what would look to be the occupancy rates being claimed by Asonahores.

The lower price point resorts in PC are likely hosting some "Animal House" behavior................but as to the others, the web cams tell a different story.

What pool is that one? That resort has a crazy amount of pools. More telling is a camera of a pool area in a hotel with 2 or 3 pools at most.

Lots of other webcams in PC to view...................all seemingly telling the same story so far.

Hard Rock Punta Cana is FULL right now...................................Same as most hotels in PC. And these web cams are not always live like they say. Solely for publicity.......................

Here is a snippet from review of the HR yesterday by someone that is there NOW.....No one there but all the restaurants are booked for the weekend...................

SWFL traveller wrote a review Yesterday

There are only two desks to get reservations for dinners both with no signs (more on this later) and both located in the main complex. It is probably at least half a mile walk from the beach to the main complex so be prepared to do lots of walking if you are roomed close to the beach side. The morning after checking in, we waited in line at one of these desks only to be told that all reservations for dinner were booked for the entire weekend, but good news, we could eat at the buffet. Breakfast requires no reservations but has very long lines starting early. Only one of the pools actually has food for lunch. We found it very hard to actually eat during our all inclusive vacation.

Are you there or are you just one constant, repeating DR propaganda message. I think we get it. Things are better.

Interesting..you live in PC…why do you frequently need to go to HR..unless if course you are their cheerleader investor? I live in PC…would never even think of going to Bavaro (anymore). It has become slightly cheesy and sleezy.
