Declutter. My life’s belongings fit in 4 suitcases.
Only a man could say that. I’d need 4 suitcases just for my shoes.

So in my opinion the Pulga is not just your usual second-hand store, they actually (at least in POP) sell high-quality stuff. They also sell new stuff and things that are not cheap and are of high quality. For any kids clothing, if not ordered online, my wife would only go to the Pulga in POP, as the local clothing stores (I'm not referring to Jumbo or Sirena) are sometimes only selling garbage. There are also really small businesses in the Pulga, so you get the service accordingly. I've been there many times and was surprised of the selection. Another very good category there are kids toys (not garbage) and backpacks etc.My entire selection of golf shirts/polos and shorts over the last 5 years are from La Pulga de Sosua.
I know. My wife has a small obsession towards sneakers, and have to admit, they look nice. I have just 3 pairs of shoes (one pair currently falling apart...) and get constantly nagged about that...Only a man could say that. I’d need 4 suitcases just for my shoes.

So true. Even in campo I see them being fanatically scrubbed with a brush.Clean sneakers are sacrosanct in the DR. Only the poorest of the poor do not use new clean sneakers. Any doubts, just look at everyone around you in a supermarket.
Their aesthetic fits perfectly with the class they advertise to here.I wonder if the brand is popular enough to maintain in the DR. I know some years ago it was, but not so much anymore. I just do not hear "I bought it at Banana Republic" that much anymore.
Also MUN-2 Ropa de Segunda Mano in Sosúa which is across the street from the main Playero. In addition, the one in Puerto Pl in the street mall on the right just before you reach the baseball stadium heading west. Both are very clean, priced, and have a good selection of top brands to select from, all at La Pulgas pricing. So in my opinion the Pulga is not just your usual second-hand store, they actually (at least in POP) sell high-quality stuff. Echoing AE here, very true. My wife did buy me a pair of nice blue sneakers from a small business very many years ago, and while they were a bit expensive, those did last me for years... And to be fair, while she has this slight obsession towards sneakers, ever since we're in the EU, we do walk way more than we ever did in the DR, so it's not just a question of looking nice but the shoes need to be at least moderately comfortable as well.Clean sneakers are sacrosanct in the DR.
