Dejame explicartelo......
Wouldn't you feel better is you knew your sister was staying at a hotel where they do NOT let any "John/Johanna" bring "friends", of ANY type of shady characters, over, any time they want?.
Think about it.....What if those "friends", on their way out, get into another guest's room and steal something?.
Let me give you an example (NOT Dominican-related but I know of a fact in happens in the DR also):
While in Mexico, a few moons ago, I met an American couple at the beach (from another hotel) whose's room was ransacked and ALLLL their possessions were stolen.
The hotel security caught the thieves.
Care to know how the thieves were able to get into their room?.
Have you ever noticed a cleaning lady cleaning a room, leaving the room's door opened, her cart in front of the room and then deciding to go get "something" at the "towels room", leaving the room's door opened?.
Well, when those guys confessed, they said that on their way out, they saw the door opened, got in the room, put the "do not disturb" sign on the door and closed it and when the cleaning lady knocked on the door, told her to come back later.
Just imagine if they were killers and that poor couple had decided to go back to their room?.
Do you rather your family be safe or sorry?.
I sure want mine to be safe.
Laurapasinifan, what SOME of these people do NOT understand is that MOST hotels have this policy not only because they do NOT want to have a bad reputation (labeled as a "whores hotel") BUUUUUT also for SECURITY REASONS!!.my sister went to Punta cana one year while i was in the DR seeing my GF. I had thought about driving over there so my sister and her family could meet tavina. I wonder how that would -should go down?
i would think going back to my sisters rooms( I am sure they book multiple rooms for the gang they always have) and hang out and say hello is what we would want to do. As well as go out to eat.
shoudl we be made to stay in the lobby and chat?
i understand that the hotel would have to page or call them to come meet us. But in my mind i would think we should be able to go back to their room.
now i realize anyone with intelligence could look at this situation and see it isnt a guy dragging a hooker back to the room with him....but it would fir the "rules" of no guests to the rooms.
so would those who oppose guest friendly hotels suggest that managment discretion is what should be applied??
