$6.00/lb. I get a lot of cups out of a pound so it seems OK but it's definitely more expensive.
I just feel like we are being dupped by Santo Domingo Cafe if it's imported from Malaysia.
It's inexpensive compared to some other coffees such as Blue Mountain from Jamaica. I think 1lb is near USD$60 now. Coffee and cigars are my only vices, so price doesn't matter.

If I may ask…do you buy your cigars in SD or abroad?
I personally buy them at bestcigarprices.com.

My first few years here, I dutifully bought SD coffee :) Then for some reason or another, I bought a bag of Pilon, and my next purchase of SD tasted yucky...never again! I now buy Cibao, but will also buy Pilon if Cibao is not available. Those prices have risen also, Cibao was about 250 per pound in Jumbo last time I bought.

Forgive my quick lazy math...the 400 gram bag of Cibao was around 250 pesos, so about 280 pesos per pound

I bought a couple of bags of CSD with Vanilla. It's better than I expected.

I see yesterday AOC posted to X that she was opposed to increased tariffs on Colombia (over refusing migrant flights) because it would increase coffee prices on Americans.
Isn't is good to see she is now committed to battling inflation ?

But this is the kind of thing that could be an opportunity for DR exports - that is if the island still produced sufficient quantities for export.

Coffee producters in the country hasn't pronunced about price hikes. Yet, they're quite happy about it, according to ElDinero:

I never care when they increase the cost of soft drinks because they are rare I buy them.
But coffee is a blood substitute

I am suspicious of coffee that sells in a 12 oz bag.
I think a pound is the proper packaging.
Sure when you glance at the price the 12 ounce on the shelf next to others it might fool you into thinking it's competitive but it's a red herring.

I buy them from a small family owned factory in Tamboril called Cespedes. I pay USD$1.00 per stick and I always order 100 at a time. I buy double coronas and robustos. They ship them to me on Metro. They sell in Miami for USD$8. A very good smoke. If you want the contact details, please message me.
