Unfortunately, it is not just about spring break. I see numerous stories on travel forums about the same thing, people drinking (drunk) and going into the water. You know that mentality, "it can't or won't happen to me".

And those People do play with Fire, yes..
and I admit I did take a slight sideways Shot at Punta Cana, not because of any agenda though.
.. BUT, most of us know so many other places to Vacation in the DR which offer much better value, with exponentially better Beaches.
Hopefully these Googans will NEVER find them and stay in Punta Cana.

But I am continually surprised that such a famous destination in the DR can be so completely effed up .
Red Flags all the time ?
I get upset and feel cheated when there is too much SEA Debris on the beach.. but when the Water is Calm and Clear , one can accept that .
But I would completely lose my isht if I could not enter the water for an entire Week due to rough Surf. ?
Who would pay for such a shitty vacation ?
That Buffet and the Disco at night must be really really Good ..
But I can NOW almost see why a DRUNK irrational person would go swimming in rough Surf, especially in the last days of their 1 week trip
, they feel Cheated, and when you are drunk, you are not thinking straight .
(and yes , I am changing my Mind on this Event .. I may very well have completely LOST this Bet .. .but we will see)

How are resort supposed to control the ocean? If a red flag is called for that's not the fault of the resort. Nor is it their fault if people choose to ignore the flags especially in the middle of the night

Or a Security guard walking back and forth, Like ONCE per Hour , would be MORE than enough ..
Even if they made SOME effort it is better than Nothing at all..
