Pichardo, if you OR anyone is in Santiago today, please go to the Bella Terra Mall at 11:00am-11:30am and then tell everyone if Pichardo's hypothesis holds water or not.

Never mind Pichardo, you are a Dominican, I have never met a Dominican that was wrong!

Your mind needs to recalculate and adjust.

My hypothesis is that you are still in Florida and don't have a clue to the shadows at the Bella Terra Mall in Santiago at 11:00am-11:30am on February 23rd, 2012.

Remember, Santiago is one (1) hour later then Orlando Florida time!
If you are in Santiago, that makes your 'shadow" comments even more foolish.

Until your posts #196, 197, 198 and 200, I didn't realize "what" I was trying to communicate with.
Those posts should earn you a restriction to only be allowed to post in the "The Clown Bin".

I would laugh at what you posted about my photos, but it's just too sad!

Someone should seek help!

So typical in the D.R., just keep denying facts until the issue fades away.
Sad, a very, very sad day for honest posting!

"Hypothesis Challenge"

Pichardo,

Be at the mall at 11:30 am on Saturday and I will re-take the photo with you in the picture.
Let's see where your shadow falls (No fair leaning over to influence the shadow).

Advise here so I know whether to show up to waste more of my time.

You know why they place these yellow thingies on floors for?

2vv9mk8.jpg

You know that they water the planters inside the Mall prior to the fully operational time for the Day?
Notice the water spilling from the pot?

Do you see the tables and chairs? Do yo see the mop bucket?

Unlike in the US, Canada or UK (and most first world places) in the DR shops WILL let you come in even as they set up for operations. That's a fact!

The Mall opens pretty much at around 11:00 a.m most of the times, even as they claim to be open an hour earlier from the mid week to Saturday, the shop owners don't open that early unless they have an appointment with clients.

I don't know if you noticed in the first world, but Malls don't open for biz with people already in the halls or shopping around! In the DR, most importantly in Santiago, la Hora de La Comida is kept religiously. If you understand that, then all kuddos to you!

As for the shadow and time in Santiago? Place a stick into the ground and mark the hours as you see it in your watch, no matter the magnetic pole. Watch until it hits 12:00 p.m and mark it to where it falls in the made up sun dial...

No matter how you cut it or slice it, the shadows don't reciprocate to 11:30 a.m...

If you're willing to pay for my flight into Santiago and back on the same Day I'm game! Plus a beer or two at Hooters before I catch my flight!

What, No friends in Santiago to give you a hand?

I am willing to accept one of your bosom buddies to be there tomorrow to prove my photos.

February 23, 2012 - Sunrise / Solar Noon / Sunset Tables

Santo Domingo (Santiago Table not available)

Times should be fairly close as to when the Sun is directly overhead.

Solar Noon for Orlando Florida for that date is: Solar noon: 12:39pm

Sunrise: 7:04am
Solar noon: 12:53pm
Sunset: 6:43pm

So 11:30 am is roughly: 1 hour and 23 minutes before SOLAR NOON

Guess where that puts the SHADOW?

Knowing you, you will dispute scientific facts also.

Solar noon

Solar noon is the moment when the sun appears the highest in the sky (nearest zenith), compared to its positions during the rest of the day. It occurs when the Sun is transitting the celestial meridian. This is also the origin of the terms ante meridiem and post meridiem.
Starting to feel a little foolish yet??????

I think I have proven my point, no sense arguing with someone that does not base their opinions on facts.

Some people just plain don't get it...

You and your co-clown can go and carry out all the same stuff you said for all I care!

The facts are the facts 100%. That shadow is NOT the 11:30 or 11:00 a.m for Santiago...

My entire extended family lives in Santiago, not to say the amount of friends as well!

You're the one trying to pass stale cheese as milk, but let you and your Robin co-player indulge into a one-on-one fact finding about the solar shadow in that specific spot called Bella Terra Mall at 11:30 a.m. in the real non-alternate DR...

Too much of time wasted in perhaps trying to educate some lost souls making themselves clowns in a public forum!

I have to go, I need to visit the Mall at Millenia for some needed tennis shoes I'd been looking to try for my morning jogs...

Maybe I should wait until tomorrow morning at exactly 10:00 a.m. to snap some pictures as well (ones that match the real time that is) and see how it relates to a Mall being open in the first hour of operations!

I better wake up a 5:00 a.m. to make the line at the doors! Bet there's going to be a ton of people in the halls and the shops' doors waiting to purchase stuff, unlike in the DR "dead as a door knob" Malls!

Some people here really need to get a life and leave the DR bashing to other people, that can pay attention to their evidence before they post it!

LOL!!!!!

Pichardo, give it up! I can tell you that the shadow casted by the building in this picture is consistent with the time and date posted by SantiagoDR and corroborated by waytogo.

Thread re-opened at OP request. Please refrain from turning this into a bash Pichardo topic. Keep all posts to the mall and what stores are there.

Yep.... it's Traffic

It's usually there everyday, Driving "past" Bella Terra mall.

I seem to miss where I said it was driving "into" Bella Terra Mall?

Or maybe you think the Esmeralda street also connects via a tunnel to the Mall, as I posted another "Traffic" picture of it?

>>>>??????

Is it there another "Traffic" meaning for cars transiting on the streets?????

I wonder how long you will keep slipping under the radar?

I can see posting about a new mall and other new things in the D.R.
But to continue throwing in ALL this FREE advertising on DR1 for months?

To name just a few:

Bella Terra Mall - since October 6, 2011.
Agora Mall - since November 10, 2011.
Sambil Shopping Center - since November 21, 2011.
Johnny Rockets - since December 19, 2011.
Blue Mall - since December 5, 2011.
IKEA - since December 5, 2011.
... and now Plaza de Buhoneros Lorenzo Vargas - since February 27, 2012
Etc, etc.........................

Some of those places have been open a year or more,
........ one would think they were NEW from your posts.

The amount of posts on these malls and businesses far exceed any normal posting of events, etc.
I congratulate you on accomplishing your task.

You even convinced the moderator to re-open this thread so you could continue the FREE ads.

God! You really need to lay off the coffee pot! ...

Time to wake up and smell the coffee?
