    Storage in SD?

What I was looking for is a large storage for furniture inside some warehouse but with an access for a truck to load and unload it. What you need is mini storage, and probably in the city center. MB storage has it at three locations (according to their site), two of them in the city center...

    Travel From the Dr

As I mentioned before, it's not only about refunds. It can be anything, lost baggage, delayed flight, whatever else... And in case of any problem I prefer dealing with a normal company than with a bunch of imbeciles. I better pay higher price and I don't mind having connection in Panama.

    Storage in SD?

Not the exact service I was looking for.

    New way to get robbed.

And why they do it in US? Here in DR the reason is always the same: Los ataques presumiblemente se realizan con intenciones de provocar accidentes de tránsito o que los conductores se detengan y poder despojarlo de sus pertenencias. They throw the rock onto your car, you lose control of your...

    New way to get robbed.

This rock throwing on Autopista Duarte makes news regularly at least since 2014. A couple of examples: https://hoy.com.do/advierten-sobre-ataques-a-pedradas-a-vehiculos-que-transitan-por-autopista-duarte/...

    New way to get robbed.

Do you know what highway is? What it has to do with your shopping around Av. 27 de Febrero? If you are interested where they throw rocks onto windshields, I can tell you that it happens almost every day after 7 PM on the highway between Santo Domingo and Santiago in the Villa Altagracia area...

    New way to get robbed.

They throw rocks onto windshields on highways for years here (and not only on highways). Usually after 7 PM. No surprise if they invented to throw something else. The purpose is the same, you stop (or lose control of the vehicle and crash), they rob you. Welcome to paradise.

    Travel From the Dr

I remember some years ago one of my friends booked tickets to some Caribbean island (I don't remember which one) with stopover in Santo Domingo, so he flew from Europe to Santo Domingo, and by the time he was here, he found out that the airline he had to fly on the next leg just doesn't exist...

    Travel From the Dr

It's not about planes falling out of the sky. It's about that in case of any problem dealing with a normal company (Copa) or with a Dominican one. Be it any problem, refund, re-booking, cancelled or delayed flight, lost baggage, you name it, dealing with any Dominican company is something I...

    Travel From the Dr

I would never fly any Dominican company even if the tickets are free. Even if they pay me for that.

    Travel From the Dr

I fly Copa to Central America, South America, Caribbean and even to Las Vegas. Never had a problem. And I fly Jet Blue to Fort Lauderdale and NYC (direct flights) and never had a problem with them either.

Banco Santa Cruz ATM Rip-Off - AGAIN

You use every thread about banks to mention that BP is the worst in DR.... looks like some personal revenge. I can't imagine what could happen to you with them, but it sounds like you were sodomized in their branch at least.

Banco Santa Cruz ATM Rip-Off - AGAIN

None of these times it was a problem for me, I just called them and they solved it. All banks and their ATMs have technical problems sometimes, what's important is how fast and easy they are able to fix it. Sometimes when I pay for something online with a BP credit card, a transaction gets...

    Remitly

It all depends on how much you send. What I do, I send $7500-9000 here at once (to be well under $10000 and no questions asked) by wire transfer to my Popular account, and when I spend them all, I send another $7500-9000, and so on. For this amount, wire transfer is the best option. Of course if...

Banco Santa Cruz ATM Rip-Off - AGAIN

During 20 years with BP (Banco Popular) and using their ATMs every week I had a lot of times when their ATM was not able to give me the money, but usually in this case the transaction is reverted automatically in seconds. There was only 3 times when not only the transaction could not be...

    Watch your lug nuts

I would never do that, I keep mine totally dry. Leaving some grease there will keep them from seizing for sure, but in case if they are not tight enough, the wheels can come off.

    Watch your lug nuts

Dude, I don't use 4' metal pipe to tighten lug nuts. I rarely use it to loosen a stuck nut (and not only on my cars) that can't be loosen any other way without using a torch and impact wrench or something else not available on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. I actually helped a...
