in the defense of Blue Moon, it was started by a german and his Indian girlfriend who taught Marina, the Dominican cook, how to prepare the dishes. Marina has been there from the beginning to present day. I believe the restaurant is about 11 years running. Why? Because it does offer visitors a unique experience up in the mountains, good, tasty food usually consisting of tandori chicken, 4 side/dipping sauces, 3 kinds of veggie salads, rice spiced w/cardomen and cinnamon, and dessert. It's not for everyone. You sit on the ground in a circle and eat of bannana leaves with your hands. But for many, it is one of their most memorable experiences. I know as I take a group up there about 2-3 times a month (not typical tourist, kiters/surfers). The hosts, Rich, an American and Sandy, a German, are hospitable, charming and although not Indian, really help create a wonderful dining experience and ambiance.
