After I checked other hotel so I was browsing and this caught my eye. Does this resort ever come to fruition or it stopped in the middle of the project? It's north and right next to Dreams Macao beach resort.

Please let me know, thanks.

The same thing happened to the Sand Castle in Sosua.

Roco Ki, near Macao. Sitting dormant. I know the caretaker.
The golf course was built first and was a partnership with Nick Faldo. Construction was halted in the economic downturn about 15 years ago. The golf course was still maintained for a few years and I know some golfers who privately played on it with permission from the bankruptcy receiver. Not sure if the course is still being maintained.

is this what your talking about in Sosua?
Yes indeed. I was their first (and only) paying guest when they opened. They even let me drive the golf cart to my room. LOL

I got to share the disco with all of the contestants in the Miss Dominican Republic contest.

I'll never forget sitting in the dining room and having a line of 6 waiters standing in line next to my table.

That is the Sand Castle. Not sure how long it was open, one of my captains was employed there many years ago.
Me and a friend to a walk thru this property back in 2013 while I was still living up there.
Everything had been completely stripped out from the plumbing, to the wiring, to the flooring.
Was full of Haitian squatters at the time along with what appeared to be drug consumption
dens. Believe it or not there was a few security guards at the front entrance however
they paid no mind to all of the traffic coming in and out. I was told by someone a long time ago
it was a functioning resort until it was hit by a hurricane but aside from one conversation, I don't
recall anyone ever speaking about a hurricane slamming Sosua in the 1990s?

That must be load of fun for sure esp, being only passenger on the property. I couldn't image something like that!

By the way I found this video looks like someone is taking over and remodel and fix it up and bring it back alive. See video:

Where did you get that Idea ?
they are trying to find an Investor .. and that video was 3 years ago.. no one is biting.
its a knock down at this point.
I didnt said where or how I got the idea, I was google about it and this video came up so I just share it.

Also, check this out: https://drpropertyguys.com/properties/hotel-investment-opportunity/

It's still for sale as I learned lot people still own these property so they can't demolish it. They said the owners let it run down and also other reason of 9/11 also the water septic system but I am not sure the real reason why it got shut down.

For the former resort (first post) on this page, this video shows what it looks like:

Really, its a shame many former resort went bust and left it untouched. If I had kind of money, I would turn it around and revive it. Its so beauty, really.
