Or maybe someone who helped to arrange this gathering didn't receive $$$ what they were promised, got ticked off, then went to the police.

Its no secret, almost anyone who rents out villas around Sosua will arrange these types of "gatherings" if requested for an additional fee. I doubt anyone on this thread was surprised to see a gathering like this taking place in a villa, regardless of the girls age.

no, the police arrive because some dick who was not invited ratted them out. among other things, of course, such as the likelihood that the ambience was unruly and disruptive. i am sure that nobody called the cops because of the ages of the girls.

Actually the "dick" was invited and is the rat.

I'll bet anything one of the buscones was left out of the deal and called the cops in retaliation.

A judgment call on the prosecutors part to hold them for a year.

I have seen nothing about how long the Americans will be held or if they are just rapidly deported. Neither option will be good for them.

Given the choice, I think they'd take "deported behind curtain #3, Monte".

that is more like it right there.

No, I think it was more than that. This was a well planned operation, not a spur of the moment thing. The inclusion of
officials from the US Embassy didn't happen because somebody called the Embassy and said lets run up to Sosua for a raid.
There had to be advance planning and enough discussion and information for the Embassy to agree to participate.

It could have been a sting, but it was not spur of the moment, it was not because somebody called somebody
that night and made a complaint. This was planned in advance.

There may be more to this story than we presently know.

I think their wives are already wondering why Billy Bob hasn't called her to tell her that he is enjoying his holiday with his buddies.. At least is a group of them and they are not alone in their.. In the worst case they can start their own prison gang.

I hope the gangs in prison, shows them how it feels to be exploited, from behind.
An eye for an eye, in this case, a stroke for every stroke they profited from.

i think it was both. it may be that the villa owner was organizing parties like this for a while and was already under a watchful eye. all the same, there must have been folks at the party who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

i wonder if this concept is bad.....
dominican ladies have a free existing license to sell which actually now kicks in at 18...but she can use it if she is underage and selling to another underage male..exemptions...
but,,,this goes on all over the island.../vacation places...in the world...
this place must have been doing something really wrong...

Some tourists and resident-pats who think they can get away with anything in the DR, have a steep learning curve ahed.
Some plans on the beach or a villa can put you in a world of hurt.
Step carefully and think twice about your actions.
The Dominicans involved are also not having any fun.
There are many layers in the background, that some are not aware of.
