According to meteorologist Jean Suriel the eye of the storm is over San Pedro de Macoris. However the capital and the southwest is bone dry with absolutely no wind.
A testament to how disorganized this storm is.

Every window and sliding door in this rental house is leaking water in the driving rain. Not having fun. It can stop anytime now. I"m running out of towels and the mop is pretty useless. No power and it will be dark in a few hours.
