1645 Monday. Hard to believe it's only been sprinkles on and off all day and almost zero wind here in San Cristobal.

Fiona just upgraded to Cat 2 storm - 99mph but strange it's telling me that NE Coast haven't hit that high, mostly 50mph at most with heavy rain.

stay careful with rain coming down AFTER the Center is away since long hours.
I personally got lucky with my family with our Ranch.
A neighbour, who lives half a kilometer aside in a not so well built wooden hut, despite half of his house and the roof gone, went over to take a look.
Our place is as we left it, the new wooden house and the huge PalmLeafs Parragua, all just built the last weeks, are completely intact.
The brave poor neighbour, taking care of mine while his own was gone, as it is actually impossible to drive up there due too many trees on the country road way, this man will get his house rebuild by me and my boys at the moment we can drive up there to bring the needed materials by pick up trucks.
There are Good People around.
Here in PC at my place, we have still(all afternoon) constant rain which stopped only a few times and just for a few minutes, over all a constant rainy afternoon.
It is coming straight down, as we have zero wind here.
Of course Power is still out, 23+hrs now, since around 6PM yesterday.
But we are unharmed, have a roof over our heads and food to eat, Thankful for that in times like these

People are reporting on TA that Hyatt, SCC and a couple of other resorts in Punta Cana are not accepting any guests until Friday.

Evacuate them to where? I would have thought that an AI is the safest place to be and that they have plenty of food and backup power. The only thing would be the cleanup aftermath.
not every AI is a hurricane shelter and the ones in Cap Cana been th closet to the storm. maybe they need to close for mayor clean up, but i couldnt tell.

Based on the photos on FB (I can't attach to thread for some reason, but a quick search will find them) of the damage at SCC I can understand why they evacuated the guests.

Las Terrenas
Our friends in Las Terrenas say the town has suffered a lot of damage. Our other friend over there said it is much more serious than 5 years ago since the eye of the storm was almost over the area this time around.

A ton of roof damage everywhere, downed utility poles, etc. Roads can't be driven on.

No water, no electricity, no internet.

They were so sure nothing was going to happen, but Windy.com tracked the storm going over and they were right.

Climate change, - ugh

Thanks as always Mike for being a complete hero and giving us so much advice through the hurricane. Sending much love to you and your family as well as all those who were badly hit in your area.
