My wife and I took the new years cruise from La Romans with the costa line. Either the cruise you took or the next one ended up with 50 infected doctors from Santiago, several of which died from covid. This was before the vaccines arrived.
I think the one after us is the one you are referring to. There where several cases on the sailing we took but it would have been a nightmare to catch them all. People got on the ship in 2 ports (Martinique and Guadalupe) as well as got off as that was their final destination. The only testing done at any port or to reboard the ship was a temperature sensor pointed at you. These were early days when no one knew what was coming.

Hopefully with everyone (guests and staff) showing proof of vaccination these situations will be a thing of the past or on a much smaller scale.

Vaccine Refusers Don’t Get to Dictate Terms Anymore

People who opt out of shots shouldn’t expect their employers, health insurers, and fellow citizens to accommodate them.

One Italian Passenger Brought it on board .. he died .. You have to be a member of Bloomberg LAW to read the rest of the story .
The info is pretty much sealed, and the Cruise Line just WON the Negligence suit .

I am not doubting that it happened ..

I was just hoping he would have more DETAILS about it . SINCE HE WAS THERE and actually Contracted it FROM that Italian Passenger ( directly or indirectly) , the Italian seems to be Case # 1 on that Cruise Ship..
Unless Melphis is one of the People still SUING the Cruise Line, and was told not to share anything by his Attorney ..

This would be a VERY Interesting STORY to tell and share .. but we cant force him . can we ..

There is not much to share. Went on a cruise and I caught the covid virus. I'm guessing through indirect contact. I could have also caught it in one of the ports we visited. This was very early days when no one knew what was to come. There was no big drama, no blackop helicopters following me, nothing. No interesting story and you don't need to force me to share it.

Why on earth would I sue the cruise line for catching a virus. I boarded the boat on my own free will without any duress. I can't even say with 100% certainty that I got it on the ship. I accept responsibility for myself. I guess its a Canadian thing.

Every single person who I have known and met who had COVID back then ..( many dozens, im in a hotspot ) .. the FIRST thing we all talk about and SHARE are the SYMPTOMS we had , and we compare notes .. not a single exception ..
This is the Secret Handshake Club ..

I'm glad you had such mild symptoms that you didn't even know you had it ..while others were dying around you .

Good for you Sir ..

Maybe it was a bad hangover from the cheap booze on an AI cruise

So is it every 6 months we have to get vaccinated?

Yes, that is pretty much how this whole masquarade will play out. Get your next shot within a time limit set by the government or your Covid vaccine passport will be rendered useless.
This is already happening in Israel. Everyone now needs to get third shot be be able to keep using their so called green pass.
Western countries will eventually follow Israel's blueprint, as they did just that with the first 2 doses.

Quebec is already starting a 3rd dose campaign for immunocompromised people over 65 this month. I can bet all my money that this will be extended to the general population by year end.

And more shots next year. On and on.

That's great. I also had Covid in late February of 2020. Caught it on a cruise ship coming into La Romana. Basically it was like a really bad flu. About all I did was drink ice water all day and then switched to ice rum in the evening. 10 days of doing nothing.

All I can say is that 80% of the new cases are from the 20% that are not vaccinated. If they are waiting for herd immunity they just might become another corpse that is helping to thin the herd.

What is a secret handshake club. I hope your tin foil hat isn't letting radioactive waves in lol
Well alcohol is known to kill germs ...

Well we have a teacher that tested positive on Sunday, and she has both shots of sinovac.
No one ever said it prevents people from getting Covid. What it does do is prevent them from dying. Is she dead, is she in the hospital? If the answer to both is NO then the vaccine is doing it's job. And by the way you did get vaccinated yourself, did you not/

Yes my wife and I have been vaccinated 3 times, and the school district just asked for both of vaccination for all staff. She isnt in the hospital , yet. She however is overweight and eats unhealthy foods, probably prediabetic. Thankfully she is young and not poor.

The Canadian Federal government just announced that proof of vaccine will be required for all flights including domestic. While that only affects a few of us here, eventually you are going to have to have proof of vaccine or stay home.

I understand why some people are reluctant to get vaccinated but your options to go out and travel are getting very limited. The science is there, its not a conspiracy. You may still get covid or delta but the vaccine will at least keep you alive and probably out of the hospital.

Taking up valuable hospital beds for covid is not only selfish but completely irresponsible and preventable.

Had no idea so many doctors and scientist were posting on here now a days.
Here's a question for our medical team;
If a person has already had Covid should they get vaccinated?
If so, is it for medical reasons or to retain their ability to travel by air and eat inside restaurants?

Mandatory jabs to travel out of Chinada.

Big pharma is laughing their asses off all the way to the bank. Not often you make billions while an experimental drug is tried out on the general population, and top of that you are not liable if said experimental drug ever harms someone, as it has happened already.

Next up in Chinada: mandatory boosters to keep your vax pass and then a social credit score system.

(CNN) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday announced a nationwide Covid-19 vaccine mandate for rail and air travelers as well as staff.
Canada will also have a vaccine mandate for federally regulated workers in place by the end of the month, according to Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland.
Trudeau said that by the end of October all travelers 12 or older on a plane or train within Canada must be fully vaccinated.
"By the end of November, if you're 12 or older and want to fly or take the train, you'll have to be fully vaccinated," said Trudeau, noting that "testing will no longer be an option before boarding a train or a flight" in Canada.
All "federal public servants in the core public administration must be fully vaccinated" by October 29, according to Freeland.
"Members of the public service who are not fully vaccinated, or do not disclose their vaccination status by October 29, will be placed on administrative leave without pay as early as November 15," Freeland said.
The mandate will apply to several government entities, including "Correctional Services of Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, and many other offices and agencies," according to Freeland.

Approximately 89% of eligible Canadians have received one Covid-19 vaccine dose and about 82% of eligible Canadians are fully inoculated, according to Freeland.
"The vast majority of Canadians have stepped up and done the right thing," she said.

I just hope they keep obese people off flights. I would rather sit next to a slim unvaxed person than a fat slob who has had both vaccines.!
