President Luis Abinader said that in coming days the change in charges for senior driver’s license renewals would be revoked. Listin Diario had reported that Intrant under the new leadership of Milton Morrison had begun to charge seniors RD$1,900 per renewal every two years, compared to RD$1,900 for a four year renewal for those 18 to 64 years. The announcement was made during the La Semanal weekly press conference with the President.

He's playing a dangerous game with all these U-Turns. I think they need to think through these policies a bit better and then decide to stick to them, it's making him look weak.

He's playing a dangerous game with all these U-Turns. I think they need to think through these policies a bit better and then decide to stick to them, it's making him look weak.
Or you could say that he is reacting to the will of the people.

I do agree that tryng to change so many things like this and the fiscal reforms all at one time do need to be better thought out and perhaps rolled out more slowly instead of all at once. That all at once style reminds me of why nothing gets done in my home country any more.

And of course, he is on his last term so any weakness he has is not an issue for him since he cannot be re-elected.
But it could have negative effects on his successor.

I see far more positives with Luis in charge than I see negatives, so far. People will have short memories for things that they didn't like that never actually happened.
