I made hundreds of these in Georgia out of red oak. sold most. Very easy to make. most of the big ticket stores selling them are garbage. best way is homemade or get a carpenter. I say the most comfortable ones anyway that last. simple one that straight are not as comfortable as stated , rounded is better, so are the ottomans to match. thes can also be made with adjustable backs

Hippo,
I have been thinking of you today....

I bought 2 of these https://www.lowes.ca/adirondack-cha...bc201p-white-pine-muskoka-chair_g2425951.html
They were $110CAD, just over $80US

They come unassembled or treated.
So I paint them and put them together.

I was thinking that your Cabrera price isn't that bad considering the higher cost of RD lumber and then the making of them.
That price is pine... cedar pushes the price up.

All in all, not bad - IMO

Well that is good to hear :) Certainly no regrets as we have gotten a lot of good use and enjoyment out of the chairs already. We are very happy with them!

And an added bonus is that now whenever I see the builder or his son around town there is always a big, genuine, friendly greeting and smiles. Very nice people!

Ok WW, thank you for answering. I had mine made by a very good Italian furniture maker in Sosua and i paid $7000 each so we are not far away. Very good quality as well but mine are just a little more stylish..

I saw a ranch with over a dozen that were also rockers, but they didn't put any curve in the seats or the backs, so not so comfortable. I find the resin rocking chairs are well made.

Some rock, some recline...some have footstools

Hippo's and mine are the 'garden variety' type...... just chairs, as in the link

Would like to get some Adirondacks

Hello,
We are heading out to the Cabrera area this weekend and would love to connect with the carpenter to get two chairs.
Can you tell us where he is located?
thanks

Mission accomplished! Thanks again!!

Love the chairs... Very comfy, well made... and only a little late! ;) My girls' especially love their mini versions. He also threw in a table to match for no extra cost, which is lovely as well. Will post a photo of the chairs tomorrow.

We had 4 made right before we left in May, but on the southern coast, west of SD. Didn't take photos, but they look like the one you posted. I think they were 800 pesos each - we also had two matching lounge chairs made by the same guy, 1500 pesos each. When we get back next month we'll have cushions made.

That is a great price for custom made chairs.
