No charge from Pasarex?I am the one that posted it,Amazon ships it to Colombia and then it is passed off to a Colombian courier company called Pasarex and they deliver to my home. Quick and efficient and many items ship free.

We've only been with Domex for a few months now, but as I agree with you, I wonder why is that? Who is behind the company and why are they different? If that's how it works here, it wouldn't surprise me to hear DOMEX does it. They are light years ahead of the other island couriers.
Domex is one of the oldest in the business, IIRC. Started 1994 as a messenger and distribution service by the father and now run by the son. We've only been with Domex for a few months now, but as I agree with you, I wonder why is that? Who is behind the company and why are they different?
Interesting. Yes, businesses that run in the family, as far as I have seen, tend to be run properly. I did not realize they were this old.Domex is one of the oldest in the business, IIRC. Started 1994 as a messenger and distribution service by the father and now run by the son.
Correct. You can use a local CC but not a foreign/US CC online. I can call the Domex office and give them my CC number and that works.Interesting. Yes, businesses that run in the family, as far as I have seen, tend to be run properly. I did not realize they were this old.
I have one complaint for them: It appears that they are using the same software for their tracking/customer UI page as BMCargo. And the same payment processor. For some reason, that I have this far not understood, they have always declined all my debit cards when trying to pay online for packages. I have no idea why. Last I tried to subscribe to their Membresia Black when it was in offer for one year, and got the message that card issuer declined. Problem is, I have the card issuer's App on phone and no transaction even arrived, so there was nothing for them to decline. As they are the only website that has declined my card, I don't know whey they do this. BMCargo uses the same software and I had the same issue with them. Their reply was that I can pay with card at the branch...
No charge from either Amazon or Pasarex, amazing. No charge from Pasarex?
Sounds like it works great for you! That leads to another question - what happens if you aren't home when Pasarex delivers? I know I wouldn't want a package just dropped off at my outer door on the street....it's be gone in a flash! If the courier left a note for me to then go pick it up at their office, that might work okay.No charge from either Amazon or Pasarex, amazing.
Any idea why is that so? I mean, I would assume they have many expats as clients and they are promoting international trade, that's their core business after all...Correct. You can use a local CC but not a foreign/US CC online. I can call the Domex office and give them my CC number and that works.
I would try DOMEX if they had a Cabarete office or delivered to Cabarete. But they don't.If that's how it works here, it wouldn't surprise me to hear DOMEX does it. They are light years ahead of the other island couriers.
It will happen sooner than later. They have opened offices in every nook and cranny in the country. I'd bet even money the search for a spot is already ongoing but they're not going to pay gringo loco prices for a small office.I would try DOMEX if they had a Cabarete office or delivered to Cabarete. So , nobody has found a way for Amazon to ship directly to the DR without incurring major shipping costs.
No surprise that method of shipment from Amazon to DR does not exist after all.
About when Amazon has free shipping to the DR?It will happen sooner than later. They have opened offices in every nook and cranny in the country. I'd bet even money the search for a spot is already ongoing but they're not going to pay gringo loco prices for a small office.
Amazon does have free shipping to the DR, on orders over $49 USD. When looking at individual items, the shipping can be pretty steep. I haven't put items into my cart when using my DR address to look at it more in depth, but you can't say it doesn't exist. How it gets to your door...that we don't knowAbout when Amazon has free shipping to the DR?
Somebody had posted in this thread that they had received Amazon shipments in Colombia...can't find it now so maybe a moderator deleted it. If so, my question ties back to the DR so hopefully we can all see an answer...how were those shipments delivered? Is it similar to here where there really isn't a post office as many of us are used to? I'm curious how Amazon would deliver here, and maybe that answer would be similar to how it's done in Colombia.
