Re: Sir, with all due respect...
Oh, shrimp,
Pib, please don't twist my words. I am not blaming it on the poor victims. Its true that many Dominicans do load up on luggage when they come home. Dominicans are not the only ones who do that, Pakistanis and indians follow the same customs.
The plane didn't come down because it was over loaded. I am just imagining the most probable cause. If the plane lost an engine, most likely the hydraulics were also damaged; especially at take off speed (full throttle), low altitude etc.... see my point? Then if you have almost full capacity and a loaded up plane (luggage, passenger, fuel etc), it would not help the situation. In any case, that plane would have gone down even if it were empty, just not enough altitude and power. Now I am hearing that part of the wing came off. Forget it, it didn't have a chance.
By the way PIB, I am also an electrical engineer and I have studied structural engineering courses along with strength of material (statics & dynamics, strength of material and etc) and did some research in feedback systems of an aircraft avionic systems. These things may sound quite arcane to your mind but I do know (a bit) of what I am talking about. Just guy stuff.
Have a nice day.
(P.S. I am the # 1 public defender of the Dominicans in DR1 message board).
