My flight was mostly 25-50 yr olds. A couple of babies. Several gringos. Two people in wheelchairs (one was a young guy with crutches). And no one clapped when we landed!!!!!

We chose the up front seats with no one in the middle seat, it was $1200 for both. We were entitled to 4 suitcases, took none. Daughter is flying down with two sons next week, $900 for all three including baggage.

Welcome back to Paradise!!

Oh look, just happened @ Punta Cana. Who she works for? Supposedly Frontier…

Hmm, ripping someone’s boarding pass right before boarding may have some issues…

The video in the article doesn’t always play, but in YouTube it does.

So, our daughter and two grandsons flew Frontier down to spend a week with us. No issues coming here. They were scheduled to fly home at 1:30 on Saturday. Several delays took it to 4 pm.

Took forever to load passengers, then an argument ensued when a Dominican man started fighting with the crew because he wasn’t seated with his girlfriend, which was mandatory for him because she doesn’t speak English. It stretched on for a long time, long enough that an announcement was made that now the pilots were over their deadline for flying.

The told everyone to gather their belongings and get off the plane. Anyone who lived in DR was told to go home, and everyone else was given a food voucher and a hotel voucher. Flight was rescheduled for 12:45 Sunday. After a couple of hours and lots of confusion, especially for the American passengers who were clueless, they were separated into families and adults. They were on the adults bus, taken to the Catalonia Hotel in Santo Domingo, where they were given two rooms. (Families were taken elsewhere). Frontier had the hotel open a restaurant to feed everyone dinner and they said breakfast would be at 6:30 and a bus would be there at 7:45 to take them to the airport. Daughter decided to reserve an Uber for 9:45 instead. They landed in Philadelphia in a snowstorm, and older grandson a day late getting back to college.

Son coming in February on Frontier, crossing my fingers.

PS We live about an hour west of Santo Domingo, close to two hours to airport. We did offer to go get them at airport.

You do realize I'm about 15 minutes from the airport if I drive slow. You can always ask me for assistance. We don''t have a spare bedroom anymore but we do have 2 full length sofas. I could always take 1 and let the adults have my bed.

Probably the same guy who drives his motorcycle in front of the other four people waiting in line at the gas station to get his gas first, because he is more important.

I find this bit a bit odd. If a passenger is not behaving properly and there is even a threat that the flight is delayed due to this, in my country they call the police and the problem passenger is quickly escorted out. Also, they did not have seat reservation? I'm just confused that the airline staff let that happen in the first place...

Apparently they didn’t want to pay in advance to choose their seats. I wondered the same thing. My only conclusion was that the crew let it go on because they knew they were fast approaching the cutoff for pilot time and they didn’t want to fly.

I forgot to mention that when they landed in Philly several US Customs agents entered the plane and said all passengers needed to have their passports in their hand.

As they filed off the gangway, the agents were waiting there, asking everyone if they were traveling with medication. I doubt they were looking for abuela’s blood pressure meds, I bet they’re cracking down on people bringing back ED meds to resell.

This is why I refuse to fly these Ratchet Airlines ... especially that vile Yellow one , not even for Free.
Frontier sounds like it has the same Philosophy of Shitting on their Customers and allowing their Employees to make Drama
IF you don't PROPERLY TRAIN your Employees , they will act as they do at home or on the Street .
not in a Million years would I eff up my Vacation by giving them an opportunity to do this on my flight .

Yes, which places the blame directly on the Airline for not acting fast enough, there needs to be Urgency to get that Door Locked . They are keenly aware of their Window ... Its as if they dont care, OR worse yet wanted to make a spectacle and an Example out of the Passengers ( that makes it personal)
Terrible Management . someone should have brought in the Police and removed the offending passenger(s) . Its not Rocket Science .

My son is flying Frontier again next week from Philadelphia to SDQ, hopefully all will go well. I am surprised they took some passengers to the Catalonia in Santo Domingo, maybe the hotel(s) near the airport did not have enough rooms.

Appears that you might be right about the crew, never heard before anything like this though... So if they did not pay in advance, they definitely had no business in complaining already being on board.

Sorry to hear about this experience of course!

Exactly. Usually when we have boarded a plane, the crew even announces in advance how much time they have left before the scheduled time and I have heard them speaking proudly in the intercom announcing that even a few minutes to spare they have already managed to lock everything and we're ready to go...

But, I have also heard many horror stories where the crew had to be changed due to going to overtime or something...

Do mean how much longer to departure or how much time the crew has before they time out? As a former flight crew member, I do not ever remember doing that. I do know that the flights I worked to the DR would be rushed. As crew, we just wanted to get everyone seated and belted up so we could go. Now back then you could bring pretty much whatever as carry on, so our flights would get pretty hectic. Arguing over seats never really happened especially to the point we would time out.

This Arguing over Seats thing seems to be UNIQUE to flights to DR .. I have NEVER had a Person try to steal my Seat , for which I had a matching Boarding pass on ANY other Airline to any other Country.
But Flights to DR, it has happened to me TWICE already... Both times the same Lame Ass " no speaky English, pikky pani " Excuse Or the " want to sit with my family" excuse as we see here ... They do it because they know they can get away with it
I had to accept another seat , each time, even though I had an assigned one .. Being in vacation Mode I took it in stride but I can totally see how a person would get upset .
Some Dominicans really are special when it comes to Flying .. they just do not follow the Rules .

As a frequent business traveler, I never ever fly the "discount" airlines. If I was a 19-year-old college student, no problem. Now I see some of these people traveling wearing pajamas and carrying an anchovy pizza onto the planes.

I fly two or three times a month and it amazes me how big of rule breakers latinos are when it comes to flights,I've seen it all. It is not confined to Dominicans,it's a latino thing based on my extensive experience flying in and out of latin American countries.

In our case it’s the airport proximity. Philly is about 45 minutes. Newark about 2.5 hours. For our son it’s about 20 minutes to Philly from Cherry Hill. It’s not about the discount, it’s the ONLY direct flight from Philly to SD since AA discontinued theirs.
