I had started a couple of networking groups in the U.S. over the years and ran a few of them. At the dinner the other night I had mentioned it to some people and they seemed interested. Perhaps we can start one here in the capital and help one another build our businesses.....You would be amazed at what you can do with referrals!:classic:

anyone interested? Anyone needing an explanation on how it works, let me know.

Networking group explanation!

Due to the large response I am getting!

To summarize quickly, we only take one member from each profession, one atty, one banker, one real estate salesperson, one travel agent, etc. We meet on a regular basis, say every Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for breakfast and the meeting.

At the meeting, every member gives a 60 second commercial about their particular profession, any specials they may be having that week. Perhaps they have a special deal on a house for sale, someone who sells tires has a specail on Goodyear, or oil changes.

Each week, one member gets to do a 20 minute presentation about his/her particular business. Basically giving you information so that when you meet someone needing their services you can refer them to that member.

Each member is required to bring atleast one referral to each meeting. Say, you are in the catering business. A couple comes to you to plan a wedding. You can tell them about our group member that sells wedding dresses, a limo service, a florist and then tell our member florist, limo co, etc. their name and number to follow up. You have already made the initial presentation and recomendation. Every member becomes a salesperson for you, and you for them. ie: I am in the mortgage business. You speak to your cousin in Miami who is looking to refinance her home. You tell her about me, and then give me her name and number to follow up.

The best advertising, is by word of mouth, and referrals. Believe me this works well!

Any other questions, please contact me!

Rather than respond,

In less than 40 mminutes I recieved 4 PM's. That constitues a decent repsonse!

Bring business cards!

Those of you who are planning to attend, make sure you bring business cards to pass around to other members! That's how it starts!

I have been to BNI meetings here in Canada and they are great for networking and polishing your public speaking skills. They have chapters worldwide. Best of luck with this new group!

Then you know the concept works! In the US I started one chapter from scratch in NY for BNI, and then ran two other chapters in NJ.
