I am sorry PJP, I lived for ten years in SD and in La Vega and go to the RD twice a year now and never ever met a Haitian that speaks German. Dutch? Are you joking?
Send me a Haitian that speaks dutch to were I live and you will be my guest for a good ten years old bottle of Bourgogne.

Well I did.
They worked on the construction of our house. They eat a lot I’ll tell you.
My father in law who was in charge of the construction always told them at 5:00 pm that it was 4:00 pm so one hour more.
Never met one who spoke English, Dutch, German or Spanish. A little French, that was all.

You've never met a Haitian that speaks English or Spanish??? I've never met one who doesn't at least speak two languages proficiently.

Go to Pricesmart and you will see quite a few university educated French and English speaking Haitians. We had a Haitian teaching French at our school for about five years and now she teaches in the Catholic high school. She is fluent in Spanish and French and her English is functional.

it's true, my sheepskins are a fraud, please don't tell anyone, especially my esteemed Clemson colleague, he will lose respect for me as all ACC educated people tend to be elitist.
