I bought an expensive new washing machine several months ago a Frigidaire and the computer in it broke down shortly after wards and no one would honour the guarantee and there are no new parts available in the capital or the east .I bought it at Jumbo , just as bad as Plaza Lama . Like everything electrical, it is best to buy something that is simple . I have had better luck with Corripio but I think it is a hit or miss affair . I have bought smaller electrical items at Cuesta at Punta Cana with better results.
I highly recommend against Frigidaire or GE appliances. I have a Frigidaire dishwasher that is totally useless. Worst purchase I ever made. A GE dual washer/dryer also rusted and failed quickly. Horrible crap.

I much prefer Whirlpool products. My recent washing machine, a Whirlpool top loader with an agitator , replaced a Whirlpool top loader with agitator that lasted about 25 years. This new one from Jumbo probably won't make it that long. It isn't made like the old one, but still better than a new GE or Frigidaire.

No washer sold in DR will last 25 years unless you find a 15-year old Maytag which was made in the states

Which is why I almost always import everything. This time I didn't and perhaps will regret it.

The Whirlpool I got at JUMBO was allegedly made in the USA.

My GE Stacker fried the control card (I thought) about 8 years ago.

I bought a new one from www.searspartsdirect.com (remember that name) and put one of the appliance voltage protector plugs I always talk about and it's been fine since.

By the way, any time an electronic appliance quits working, investigate if it can be reset first.

Just because they quit working doesn't mean they're bad; in some cases, there is a reset procedure to get them going again.
Is this one of those devices?

No, I don't think so, but I may be wrong.

The ones I've seen only have one plug, and some have indicators for over/under voltage.

You would plug in one of those, then plug the one in your picture into the regulator.

I'll try to get a picture of one tomorrow when I go to Sirena.
