There no really good restaurants in Santiago.. Unfortunately I can't BS you on that one.. The best we have would probably be Noah's , Pedro's, El Tablon, Brixx has really good chicken parm, The new Jade Expreso (remodel) looks really nice and the food has gotten a bit better, but I wouldn't particularly recommend anything else..

Santiago is ripe for the pickin if someone comes here and opens up a good restaurant.. Punto delivery (food delivery company) does over 1000 deliveries per day with a selection of only 25 or so restaurants, it's ridiculous how many people eat out here but we just don't have the options at the moment.

Basically all of the good restaurants in Santiago would be mediocre in Miami or any other big city in the US.. one sad thing is Tony Roma's (while it was open), would be included in this list of good restaurants..

If you get a chance to get to Jarabacoa, check out jamaca de dios, now that I can firmly say is a great restaurant with a spectacular view, also parada corazon de dios for ribs is amazing on the way up to jarabacoa, they smoke the hell out of them every day and the place is basically one of the best places to eat in the country.

Camp david has a nice view but the food is very mediocre.

Agreed on the rib joint but it is called Parada Corazon de Jesus on the hill up to Jarabacoa. Been going there for years. They would not tell me the recipe for the ribs.

No way do they do 1000 deliveries in a month. Aside from Sundays, Santiago restaurants are empty. If you go to BBQ Express, Fabios and Satay right now you won't collectively find one person. Go to Sushiya and you may find a few people--eating cheap hamburgers from the next door restaurant while taking selfies of themselves in a sushi restaurant.

yes its tru tough town for food...my ex is a real good cook almost a chef...
me im a auto erotic food critic...i know what is good...i can pan over atmosphere, service and rejoice in the best prepared foods...the extras.well its a tough country...
we went out to dine as people do, but our favorite.rest closed , the italians moved, i never found the mexicans who opened a new restaurant. and their food was tops...nothing like i ever had in states or mexico...
camp david food was good not great. a solid good... there is a restaurant outside the casino near the monument that is extremely popular...but difficult for a foreigner to understand... as it is a portable restaurant...like a hot dog stand but better...in the city center is a vendor who sells red ham heroes...delicious...near the church...does a big bis. from 4 -9pm...

Pedro's is the BEST restaurant in Santiago without a doubt. Completely fluent English and with a quite remaekable wine cellar including wonderful Port (late bottled vintage). The owner maitre d, Jorge, is a superb host who understands what his clients want and delivers it if you ask.

No other establishment in Santiago offers such a personalised ex[experience. The decor and facilities are outstanding including a special cigar room that is both air-conditioned and self cleaning air system. The oitside terrace area is kept cool using a vaporized fan system.

Noah's restaurants are famous for their stunning decor NOT their food which is mediocre and way over-priced imho.

Jinty.. how the hell could a restaurants food be anything more than VERY mediocre when they serve pasta, hamburgers, and sushi.. It's literally impossible to do all 3 of those even mediocre. I don't understand why specialty restaurants don't start popping up where they do 1 or maybe 2 things well instead of trying to make 50 different menu items and having to use all frozen ingredients and quick thawing them to serve people.

I know someone that worked in Noah's. He said they cook a lot of the food before it is ordered and refrigerate it. Then they heat it up when it is ordered.

Anybody that thinks this is "gourmet food", has not been around the block.

I live in Santiago
Wow never thought there be so many responses or even such a large selection, well I am going to try Strong Burger first, I know I know but I love me a good burger anyone been to this place?

It is not worth going to; I went 3 times. If you want a burger your best choice will be to make it yourself. The most available meat here is lean, very lean when the restaurants get their hands on it and overcook it the flavor is gone.

The chicken is very good, tje beef can be cooked and be flavorful. Flap Meat beef has good fat content and is flavorful; don't let the meat cutter slice it into pieces; that is done for dominicans who want to quickly overcook it.

If you eat out often you may want to bring your own black pepper. If it is available at the restaurant it usually tastes like floor sweepings.

All that said I believe you can find cheap and flavorful food on many street corners, chicken and pork.

I cook 5 out of 7 days and cruise the streets for the other days.
