Batteries 6,000 to 8,000 pesos.
Charger 50 dollars.
Hydrometer 10 dollars - to check acid concentration when fully charged.
Water 25 pesos.
Torch - inspect water levels etc. 100 pesos.
Wires 200 pesos.

Load tester - to check batteries condition - e.g. need to do a rapid charge etc.

System will run icemaker etc. for short time. Store food in thermos jars up to 24 hours
packed with ice.

La Serena recently had them on offer at RD$37,395 with installation GRATIS It was TRACE TR3624 3.6kW 24 Volt

but the offer ended on 16 July!

What is the average price of an inversor and batteries for a 4 bedroom house?

5.5 KW inversor with 8 batteries and installed 67.000 pesos
3.6 KW inversor with 4 batteries and installed 40.000 pesos
2.5 KW inversor with 4 batteries and installed 36.700 pesos

The 'wet' batteries (e.g. Trojan T-105) have a good price/performance ratio and I like them because they can be charged with high amps (not so the gel batteries).
I buy double-destilled water (ddH2O) in gallons from a lab, it is even cheaper than that 'battery water' in smaller bottles (which I do not trust anyway).


Good brands of batteries, treated well, last 3 - 4 years.
