One of my favorite past times while in Santo Domingo is walking around the city. You can see so much diversity in such a small space of time. You can go from extreme poverty to unbelievable riches in a very short span of time. The colors and smells are a kaleidoscopic explosion on the senses. In the span of one block you can find every fruit and vegetable imaginable. You haven't lived here until you have gotten out of your comfort zone and either walked or biked around this city.
