Another $5 dollars shave & $4 dollars haircut in the Colonial Zone this weekend. At some point, it becomes cost effective to get shaven twice a week than to purchase razors.

It seems to be that Mother Nature wants to take back what is rightfully hers. Humans never learn.

Wow! I'm in Las Terranas now and it's not that bad, but I've never experienced the water levels that I've seen on this trip. The calle along the beach is covered with sand and the water is churned even though it hasn't rained in five days. I'm just happy I didn't plan on going out whale watching this trip. The guys here tell me that even the pools in Cabarette are sand filled.

You can also forget about your beachfront house or condo in Cabarete or anywhere else for that matter.

If there is ever a Tsunami of any size, you can forget about downtown Sosua, Cabarete and most of Puerto Plata. Those who get to high ground in time can watch the complete disappearance of everything familiar. Yes Gaspar and many other places too.

Size, direction of origin and the number of waves will determine the new look for this area. Don't expect there to be an airport where was once one.

Haitian Border Tour:

I'm uploading the video now, but holy mother, was this an amazing motorcycle trip...1200km in three days. Truly once in a lifetime trip that everyone should do once in their life. Take lots of small change and candy for the Haitian children who are running around barefoot and without clothes. The children chase you for miles asking for anything you can spare. It's truly a humbling and life-changing experience that stays with you.

I gotta tell ya Frankie, but to each his own. I can in no way, shape, or form call a 1200 km trip in 3 days amazing.

Now give me a 120 km trip with lots of stops on the way to interact with folks, toss down some cold ones, take in the sights....now THAT is amazing!!

I've been up in the Hills before when I had my Wrangler. I loved it. Humbling isn't the word for it. There's nothing like it.
I've got some pictures of one of my trips up there on my FB page if you want to check them out. I could tell you some stories about those..lol

I'd always heard about the de-forestation of Haiti. So sad, seeing it through your eyes. Not sure I'd want to see it through mine.

This one brought me to tears Frank. I'm thankful that you gave those of us who have not visited Haiti this view of it.

A: This is not Haiti! This is RD!
B: The deforestation is on the RD side of the border, not Haiti. This is what Haitians have done to the RD, over the decades. Do not be mistaken by the falsehoods presented here, within this video. The director was not in Haiti. There is not one Haitian flag to be seen within this presentation.
C: What about the Dominican children? That does not fit his narrative.
D: Yes, throw your petty change and candy at the children. Do not try to assist them in their needs, or any other way possible. Maybe a bottle of water? Food? No. Treat them like trophy pieces for your video presentation. Exploitation at it's worst.
E: Not all Dominicans are created equal.
Ay Francisco!

Are you drinking? "Exploitation?" "Narrative?" How many Dominican children did you see in this video? this is the third time i have done this trip; once you past Restauracion, and start down the border (especially through the markets), all you see are Haitians for 60km.

What...you think this is some "Agenda" driven motorcycle trip? "Exploitation!" Really?

You should lay off the booze.

To answer some of your issues (in the order that you presented them).

A.) I never said i was in Haiti. I said i did a Haitian border trip (along the international highway) beginning in Restauracion to be exact--and then continuing down for exactly 60km. The map at the beginning if the video is my exact route that we took.

B.) "The Director"...who am i, Martin Scorsese now? We're just two guys on motorcycles with a $75 video camera shooting the beautiful nature and sights.

"Falsehoods?" What falsehoods are presented in the video?

C.) "What about Dominican children...does not fit his narrative."

Really? What narrative? I got no narrative. We're traveling along the border--beginning in Restauracion--and continuing for 60km down the border--where there are almost exclusively Haitian children. Did you see any Dominican children? No? why not? Maybe because this is not an area Dominicans choose to try to eke out a living? Did you see any Dominican children chasing after me, asking for money? No? Ask yourself why? There is nothing there but barren wasteland (although extremely beautiful...stunning nature), and for whatever reason, the area is populated mostly by Haitians. Why that is...I don't know.

D.) "Throw your petty change and candy at the children." "Do not try and assist them with their needs."

What am i, Unicef on a motorcycle? We're just two guys with one backpack in-between us, traveling the island. We're not a charity organization traveling with a truck full of food and water. We're on motorcycles, man. We barely have any water for ourselves. We were de-hydrated.

"Treat them like Trophy pieces?" Where does a statement like this come from? "Exploitation?" Really? Exploiting them in what way, exactly? Elaborate more on this.

E.) "Not all Dominicans are created equal." Yep, you got that right!

F.) "Francisco?" Sorry, I'm not Francisco. My name is Francis. Try to get that straight, please.

Stop Trolling, and get out and do this exact route that we took. See it for yourself. Come back and report here. Bring photos and video. I would love to see it and share it. And so would other people. This island is a huge, beautiful island. There is a lot to see and do. It's stunning, and you could spend your whole life traveling it and never quite see everything. Stop Trolling, and start travelling.
