Monday 06.06.05 @ 06.00am

Yesterday - Remained reasonable for most of the morning but throughout the afternoon it began to get a bit overcast. Winds did blow for a couple of hours.
Today - Dull, grey and overcast skies at dawn and this does not seem to be improving. In fact it looks like it could rain?
Sea has a few waves and a shore break of up to 1 metre.

Cabarete

Hi, we're going to Cabarete on Wednesday. How's the weather been the past few days?

Peter of Peter & Alex fame is taking a little break. Generally we've had hot weather with some cloud cover during the day and scattered showers and thundershowers to cool things down. The showers are usually of short duration.

Me back for a while??
Lovely clear morning with lots of blue sky. Some cloud out to sea. Feels hot and sticky today!
More cloud later this morning as I type but the breezes are kicking in now and cooling it down a bit.
Sea relatively calm but with a shore break of up to 4 feet in places along the bay.

Monday 08.08.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - stayed hot and sticky for most of the day, everybody complaining. Wind did kick in and some water activities going on. Skies became cloudier later in the afternoon and we had a 5 minute shower in the evening.

Today - A rather mixed sky this morning. Bits of blue but plenty of cloud too. dark rain clouds out over the sea but these were heading towards POP. At 08.15am the skies have become more cloudy than earlier but there is still clear blue sky inland. The sun is trying to peep through.
Seas are much the same as yesterday with some breakers out on the reef and some nice 4 feet plus shore breaks along the bay.
There's a bit of a breeze so it does feel a little cooler.

Tuesday 09.08.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - Turned out to be a nice day really despite some clouding over. Seems like there was sufficient wind for the kiters and boarders? It did become overcast later in the day and we had a short shower at 10.30pm.

Today - Very dark clouds over Cabarete at dawn but these began to clear as I wandered the beach early. We just had a very short period of a few spots of rain at 08.00am but in general the skies are clearing slightly. Sun is trying to burn it's way through but there are still some clouds about.
Sea is relatively calm and there is less shore break than yesterday.
Fingers crossed for a nice day?

Wednesday 10.08.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - intemittent periods of cloudy skies and sunny spells. We did have some rain showers through the day but the sky cleared towards late afternoon. There was a short shower in the evening.

Today - Blue patches, dark clouds, sun rising, showers, equals rainbow morning. We had the lot first thing this morning! It's been raining on and off since dawn and now the skies are dull and overcast at 08.25am. At least it's a bit cooler.
Sea is calm but the morning light made it appear green in colour. No shore break in the bay but up to 3 feet along Bozo Beach.

Thursday 11.08.05 @ Late!

No internet this morning so we all behind!

Yesterday - The rain stopped mid morning and the sun came out. The rest of the day was pleasant.

Today - A beautiful morning on the beach. Early sunshine and generally clear blue skies. Some clouds out to sea over the horizon but they never developed.
It's a very nice day with plenty of hot sun - 11.30am.

Friday 12.08.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday - what a nice day. We did have some heavy rain at 10.15pm which cooled the night down a bit.

Today - Nice dawn, not too hot that early so we had a pleasant beach walk before the tourists were up and about. Nice to see the Dominican local women out exercising too.
Sky is almost 100% blue except for a couple of high wispy clouds. Some heavy stuf out at sea but this cleared a lot by the end of my walk.
Sea is flat calm and the water warm.

Saturday 13.08.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday - hot and sticky but a nice clear day. Onshore winds gave the windsurfers long parallel runs along the beach to the East. Breeze was nice on the beach in the evening but in town it was very heavy and sticky. Weekenders coming in by the bus loads!

Today - A nice morning already with clear skies in general - some white clouds about over Sabaneta and the hills behind Cabarete. Sun is up and there's a bit of a breeze.
Sea is flat calm.
Only 8 sleep-overs on the beach at dawn - not bad for first night of a long weekend!

Sunday 14.08.05 @ 07.00am

Yesterday - stayed a nice day with only some cloud about. There were some dark black clouds over the hills later in the day and some thunder too but it did not rain in Cabarete.

Today- A nice clear morning with plenty of sun and some high wispy clouds but the sky was generally blue.
Seas were flat calm.
Party animals were still doing their thing at 09.15am so the beach was busy and very noisy.

Monday 15.08.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday- stayed nice all day - the wind even picked up a bit to give the windsurfers a blast. There were some heavy clouds over the hills behind Cabarete but we stayed dry.

Today - lovely bright dawn with nice sunrise and clear blue skies.
Sea is again flat calm.
Noise levels still very high as the party people still party through dawn and into the morning - they will all be gone home by tomorrow!

Tuesday 16.08.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - weather in general remained good. A very few spots of rain on the beach late in the evening but nothing serious developed.

Today - Another nice day in paradise - clear blue skies and flat calm seas.

Beach parties are over now it's just a matter of clearing up the debris!

Saturday 20.08.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - Nada? I was away again!

Today - Nice dawn even with the black clouds on the horizon out to sea. Air was a bit cooler. Sky was patchy with a fair bit of clear blue and some high wispy light cloud. Sun is up but not searingly hot.
Sea is flat calm.
Breezes just picking up a bit at 09.30am.

Sunday 21.08.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - I was a bit busy so really did not notice much what the weather was doing in detail! There was some cloud about and the sun did shine for most of the day - it certainly wasn't too sticky. I think that the wind got up a bit too?
Today - A few spots of rain in the very early morning and then at dawn it's drizzle and more rain. Skies are fully overcast and it's still raining now. Haven't been on the beach yet so can't report on sea conditions. There's a bit of wind blowing with the rain though.

Monday 22.08.05 @ 06.20am

Yesterday - the early morning rain did not develop into anything serious. The day remained generally overcast with some sunny spells. The winds got up for a while but then petered out. A few spots of rain in the evening.

Today - Generally cloudy and overcast, looks like we could get some rain but it's not happened yet? We had a short shower very early before dawn.
Sea is flat calm again.

Tuesday 23.08.05 @ 06.20am

Yesterday - remained rather dull and overcast with sunny spells but there was a lot of thunder about in the hills behind Cabarete. In the evening it began to rain - not heavy - just that drizzly horrible European type stuff.

Today - dismal dull dawn with partially overcast skies - lots of black clouds out at sea. Still much the same conditions at 08.00am.
Sea is relatively flat and calm.

Sunday 28.08.05 @ 07.20am

OK me back in town again.....
Yesterday - I returned over the mountains to a clear sky, but this soon developed into thunder through the afternoon. some rain showers in the early evening but nothing heavy. Cleared during the night.

Today - What a lovely day - clear blue sky, very little cloud, a slight breeze - just lovely.
Sea is flat calm again.

Monday 29.08.05 @ 1.00pm

Sorry, late - got carried away trying to fix a PC problem.
Yesterday - stayed reasonably nice and the wind blew enough to get guys out in the bay.
Today - lovely clear morning with only a little cloud around. Still good at 1.00pm, wind is picking up. Generally a blue sky and sunshine but some cloud over the hills.
