Yesterday - Well it brightened up a bit and actually did not rain! (Heard that it poured in SD though)?
Today - Partially cloudy around dawn and later but this cleared enough to give some bright spells. Dark clouds off to the East earlier but now the sun is out and the clouds are clearing a bit, (10.25am).
Sea is calm with very little shore break.
Breeze is just picking up now.

Monday 16.05.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - Dull, bright, dull, bright for most of the day with the odd short spell of a few spots of rain. wind increased, not enough to satisfy the windsurfers much, but about 50% more than was predicted for the day. It rained again in the evening and into the night.
Today - Dull and overcast at first light but the sun is trying to force it's way through the clouds. Currently it's still dull and grey!
Sea is flat calm with a slight swell coming in from the reef and a shore break of up to 3 feet at times.

Tuesday 17.05.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday - dullish with bright spells. Light rains later in the day/early evening.
Today - Brighter first thing this morning but there's still a lot of cloud about. Pleasant early breeze along the beach.
Sea is calm with little shore break.
Still looks as if it could rain today?
I may be away for a couple of days so you'll have to guess the weather!

Arrived back in town yesterday - Cabarete doesn't seem to have had the rain that the south coast experienced whilst I was away? It also felt a lot heavier and stickier in Cabarete?
Today - Some light rain shower in the night and again at dawn. This rain persisted with very light drizzle up until around 08.00am on the beach. The sky was dull and overcast with some bright patches. Wind is picking up to about 10 knots but from the NW/WNW so it may be a little too much off-shore? Sea was calm at dawn but now has a few whitecaps over the reef.
Currently - 10.15am the sky is darker and it looks like it could rain a little?

Monday 23.05.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday - wrong again! It didn't rain but remained somewhat overcast with brighter spells.
Today - Flat calm seas with no shore break to speak of. The sun came up at dawn into a clear sky and it's remained that way so far, now 08.00am. Looks like a nice day in paradise?

Tuesday 24.05.05 @ 06.00am

Yesterday - The morning remained bright and partially clear but this disintegrated later with overcast skies. A few very isolated spots of rain around 6.30pm but this did not develop into real rain.
Today - Dawn broke with plenty of darker clouds about, especially out to sea. Very black to the North. Over Cabarete there were some bright patches earlier and now this has improved and there's a large amount of blue sky. High wispy clouds up there but the sun is coming out.
Sea is relatively flat and calm but there is some surf out on the reef and between 1 and 3 feet of shore break along the beach. No wind or waves predicted for today, or for the rest of the month?

Wednesday 25.05.05 @ 06.00am

Yesterday - The morning remained very nice with long spells of sunshine. In the afternoon it slowly became overcast and cloudy until around 3.30pm when it began to rain. The rain lasted into the evening. There's a 98% full moon but we didn't see much of it. No winds yesterday either as what did begin then died as the rain moved in.
Today - Nice clear dawn with plenty of blue sky and the sun came up good and bright. Expecting the usual overcast sky later and the potential for rain later is high.
Sea is still calm.

Thursday 26.05.05 @ 05.55am

Yesterday - Cabarete beach was picture postcard perfect in the morning, clear blue seas, nice sunny day, low tide and clean looking sand. The odd windsurfer out there trying to learn the ropes and a few tourists sunning themselves added to the idyllic picture.
In the afternoon we started to get the grumbling thunder again and this developed into rain, not too heavy, around 6.00pm for a short while.
Today - A nice clear dawn with an early sun and some high wispy white clouds. Plenty of blue sky though. It's clear now at 07.45am but we did see a couple of passing dark clouds in the last hour. Sun is still shining. A very low low tide early this morning so plenty of sandy beach to stroll along.
Sea is flat calm and still quite clear - shore break varies along the bay but generally 1 to 2 feet only.
I still think that we're in for a spot more rain later though?

Yesterday - A nice mroning but getting very hot and sticky. Some grumbling thunder around for most of the afternoon and the sky slowly became more and more overcast. There were a few spots of rain but only enough to just wet the ground. In the evening it got even more stickier and most uncomfortable and the thunder and lightning increased to almost impressive standards. But even up to midnight there was still no rain.
Then........ in the night it really thundered and directly over Cabarete - loud, loud, loud and quite scarey!! Bags of lightning and a lot of rain around 01.30am - not nice and kept us all awake.
Today - Awoke to a lovely clear dawn and blue skies. Sun was up early and it's already hot and sticky.
Sea is very calm and flat with little shore break.

The pattern continues..............
Yesterday - Nice sunny morning with the afternoon becoming more overcast and the grumbling thunder building as the day went on. We did have a few spots of rain in the afternoon but it was very localised. At 6.00pm the thunder and lightning increased and we had another spell of reasonably heavy rain, but the night improved and it didn't rain again.
Today - Another clear dawn but not so hot and sticky today. Some cloud out at sea but in general the sky is blue. The sun is out currently but there are some wispy white clouds high up. A very slight breeze is keeping it cooler.
Sea is again flat calm with shore breaks up to 2-3 feet in places.
They tell me that the winds should improve by mid next week and be almost back to Cabarete normal?

Yesterday - the day remained rather hot and humid with the usual build up of afternoon cloud. It looked like it would rain later in the evening but nothing happened. In the night we had loud bouts of thunder and lightning but no rain came!!
Today - A really hot early sun with clear blue skies. Quite humid today but there is a bit of a breeze which helps. Some clouds building out at sea but generally a nice day so far?
Sea is flat calm.

Yesterday - finally some wind later in the day, was it in the right direction to satisfy the windsurfers is the question? The day stayed mostly bright and sunny, enough to burn the few tourists that are in town at the moment! Later in the afternoon we did get the thundery stuff again, over the hills to the south west of us and further towards Sabaneta to the east. At one time it looked as if it was going to pour with rain but it didn't develop?
Today - A reasonably clear dawn with some cloud about but in general quite bright. Not a truly blue sky today but at least it's clear with some high cloud for the moment. I have a feeling it will rain?
Sea is flat calm again with little to no shore break.

Holy horrors Batman - thunder and lightning and dark black skies by 08.35am!!!

Yesterday - If you lived here you'd know that it poured with rain later in the afternoon. Half an hour of truly torrential tropical rain and strong winds! But following that it cleared up and remained dry for the evening.
Today - partially overcast with a slight breeze. Sea is calm. They're predicting some high winds for tomorrow and Thursday? In the region of 23 knots+.

Yesterday - it stayed dry and hot but the breezes did kick in and it became quite pleasant really. There were some overcast moments but in general it was a nice day.
Today - Sun up at dawn but there is some very high cloud and whilst it's bright there is not a lot of blue sky about. Breeze is already on the beach and the sea is flat calm again.

Yesterday - Beach was pleasant last evening as the winds kept blowing until late. It rained a bit in the night too?
Today - Nice dawn but then the clouds rolled in a bit and we had a few spots of rain at 07.30am. Sun is still trying to shine trough and there's a fair bit of blue sky about.
Sea is flat flat calm!

Yesterday - remained pleasant enough and there was some wind to satisfy the surfers. The breezes kept the evening cooler too!
Today - A bit overcast at dawn time but this soon cleared and the sun came out. Breeze is picking up slightly at 10.00am. Sea is calm.
