I don't think that qualifies how and why a dangerous place DR is, now blaming it on gringos visiting the place, they are bad... !!?!? How come this lot don't visit other countries, I am sure they do....

So are you trying to say, shady, dodgy gringos visit DR more than other places and there are more shady, read "dangerous" criminals, in DR than other countries and the mix produces this bleak environment for foreigners to end up killed/assaulted/kidnapped etc... ! Well, that still marks it a country to avoid... Not good at all whichever way looking at it... !?

Was going to mention in my previous post that coincidentally there was a biker funeral yesterday just north of TO.
Then thought, no, speculation and not DR related. Until I read this...

Four dozen Hells Angels sporting the club’s distinctive red-and-white winged skull “deathhead” patches on their backs roared the engines of their Harley Davidson motorcycles to escort murdered Mississauga Hells Angel Michael (Diaz) Deabaitua-Schulde to his grave Saturday.

The Woodbridge funeral at the Vescio Funeral Home was attended by more than 350 outlaw bikers from across Canada and at least one Hells Angel from the Dominican Republic......

... I saw them on their bikes, didn't know this was why... thought they might have been heading to Port Dover.

For sure, that is true in the vast majority of such cases.

Had a friend (A guy who does not bullsh*t) who recently told me he had some friends staying in Sosua for a few weeks a while back.
A man and his wife, and coming back to their hotel confronted by two guys with a gun on Pedro Clisante in broad daylight.
But apparently they weren't took quick as the man grabbed the guys gun while his wife screamed and warded off the second guy and they escaped with their lives and possessions.
