How much?
My plan is for 350 minutes and 7Gb per month. The final price after all tax is 2730 rd per month.
How much?
Not a bad idea, Bill. I assume you make calls and text over Facebook Messenger and/or Whatsapp when you can? What about a Global plan w/ AT&T to get your feet wet ?
I use T-Mobile Global and it's the same as buying minutes from CLARO
About 20 cents a minute.... I use wi-fi for most calling
So your phone is unlocked and you have a Claro sim card in it?I have what is known as a Claro International Plan. This is a new plan where all roaming including Data is free in the US, all of North America, most of Latin America, and parts of Europe. In other words I use the phone in Miami the same as if I was in the DR. Also all Claro to Claro calls are free. They do not come off your minutes.
So if you are in the US for example and call someone in the DR that has a Claro cell the call is free.
i have had this plan only since July and have never been billed for any roaming.
8gigs is good. The 350 minutes would not come close to working for me.My plan is for 350 minutes and 7Gb per month. The final price after all tax is 2730 rd per month.

I will investigate a global plan.
AT&T international or global plans are all geared for vacationers. The plans are all monthly. $40.00 per month. So not really a long term solution.TMobile has free text and data unlimited but yes, I use FaceTime and WhatsApp calls... audio only because of weak internet
What is wrong with Orange that they can't roll on 4G on the North Coast ? Heck 5G is being tested now for possible deployment for Orange in Europe and T-Mobile already has it testing in some small parts of US markets. The 1st carrier that can get 4G everywhere is going to win everyone's business.
And Claro post-paid in Puerto Rico, without contract is $40 for 10GB of data, unlimited text and calls within Puerto Rico & 100 minutes of long distance to US. Same parent company - why is the DR such a rip off ?
I'll have to keep an eye open for a Viva place in Sosua. Orange was my only option in my previous house due to coverage. Claro would be better where I am now, but I dread having to go through claro's application for post pay service again. Doing nothing has become my m.o. for aggravation reduction these days.
How is VIVA coverage nationwide, or is it region specific?
