Just testifying to the quality of local "carbon" aka charcoal to all the gringos like me.
I had my cleaning lady go to the local barrio and get the local made charcoal. It is FANTASTIC. Much better than the stuff you can buy at Jumbo or other super-markets. They are made without any of the garbage that they put in the mass produced stuff and it burns hot and long-lasting like many of the high-quality stuff you find from Japan.
