That would be Chinola, not chilona, and it is but the local name for passion fruit, known in Spanish as fruta de passion and maracuj?

Got hundreds here right now..... can't use it fast enough so having to freeze it!!!

Juice it and bottle it. Take a little cold 7-up, mix with a little cold chinola juice, float a nice round scoop of good icecream in it -- serve in cold tall glasses with a sprig of mint! Heaven! And if you're into the alcohol, a little white spirits of some kind.

You can buy it frozen in most local bodegas or supermarkets. They come packaged in plastic bags and will be labeled as either Chinola (Dominican), Parcha (Puerto Rican) or Maracuya (Central & S. America). It is sold by Goya Foods, La Fe Foods, and maybe others, and is usually found alongside other frozen tropical fruits such as papaya (lechoza in DR) and mamey (zapote in DR).

Is that whole, or just the inside guts?
If it's the inside, they often add sugar.
