Creating a better virus in an increase of function virology lab is not the same as creating a vaccine that is the best at defeating such a virus.
They are separate, but related technologies, and I would not assume being good at one makes one good at the other.

mRNA vaccines , which don't seem to be of interest in China at the moment since they are still pushing traditional deactivated virus vaccines, seem to be better against such corona viruses. At least from what I have read lately. Obviously they had more time than anyone to develop a better vaccine, but still have not. The renders your initial argument suspect that they should have the best vaccine.

Fosun Expects to Start China Production of BioNTech Shot in August

By Bao Zhiming, Wang Lijun, Jia Tianqiong and Han Wei

A Shanghai-based pharmaceutical company is planning to produce a COVID-19 vaccine with one of the highest known efficacy rates after sealing a deal with its foreign counterpart.
The deal between Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group and its German partner BioNTech will allow for the domestic production of 1 billion doses of the messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccines annually, the Chinese company said Sunday in a stock filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The mRNA vaccine was co-developed by BioNTech and U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer, and is 95% effective in preventing COVID-19.

Revolutionary mRNA vaccines made by Chinese firms will be ready to hit market by end of year, says industry chief

Could be. That scariant is more contagious, they say.

And it could be the vaccines did and are still doing their job in preventing death.
But then, most unvaccinated people won't die, either. People have a choice to be vaccinated or not.
The last I heard no government mandates vaccinations, or did that change?

Well then, take the easy option.
Do nothing, don't get vaccinated.

The WHO declared a global pandemic.
Following your logic it's really not that bad.

Seemed that in NY City with refrigerated storage containers and mass graves people and medical staff were slightly nervous.
Same in Italy, Brazil and..........
Talk to anyone working in hospitals.
Medical staff is worn out coping with covid and all hospital operations including regular surgeries and emergency care are stressed because of covid.

dr1 experts say forget about it, have a beer go to the beach.
Brilliant display of intelligence.

And it's 1-2-3 I don't give a damn, we're going to the DR beach, whoppe we're all gonna die...:):):)

In the Beginning of this Vaccine campaign
Medical Professionals were told to not EVER even Mix the shots from 2 different vials of the same medicine ..
Even the same LOT.
Each Vial dose had a lot of leftover medicine, back when it was very very scarce .
Combining several vials they could easily give them an extra free dose ...
they were cautioned to THROW IT AWAY, and not to EVER Mix 2 different vials ..

Something for you Google experts to think on
.

Well,
jd426 thought expert.

For epidemiologists covid19 was a new virus to deal with.
Scientific research needed to be done and continues to be done.
As scientific knowledge increases changes are made.

Science works on known facts, facts are modified with new advanced knowledge, that's how science works.

Your people used to think they'll fall of the edge of the world if they sail too far.
Now some people believe we live on a globe one can circumnavigate.
Neanderthals used fire but didn't know how to make it, it was magic.
Some people even believe this world and all life was created by a god.

Regardless,
Some people advance with new knowledge and change, some are intimidated by change and are incapable of changing thought processes.
They tend to believe in some false leaders statements.

I have an idea which group you belong to.

Yes you will die,
The cause and time is not yet determined.
You may be a candidate for the Darwin Awards or be hit by another cause.
Have maximum fun from now till then, before it's too late.

In response to your post and the title of the thread;

China Wants To Improve It's Vaccine Before Giving To Chinese

Well, that is certainly one way for China to "improve" its vaccine..............use one produced by someone else.

Speaks volumes and perhaps a tacit admission that Si No Vac is not very good after all. Too bad all those people rushing to get Si No Vac...........now have to wait for a real vaccine........

And as to the long term effects of any of this...........let me quote you........"As scientific knowledge increases changes are made." Tell that to the people who rushed to take Si No Vac.....it is a bit late for them to reconsider.

And what now are, or will be, the consequences of taking all these vaccines mixed together in such short order?

The answer of course is no one knows....................and yes it is all subject to change. But where would we be today without those vaccine pioneers/volunteers who bravely and a bit foolishly, with little scientific study as to efficacy and effects, and no approvals early on, rolled up those sleeves. A true hats off and tip of the cap to them.

I, like millions of others, will continue to take other necessary precautions, and wait.

Respectfully,

Its not "being good" at developing the vaccine.

Having the virus itself is a monumental head start on developing a vaccine program.
Everyone else is doing, China is full speed ahead with the virus in hand.
There is no credible evidence either way of the source of the virus.
Likely we might never know.
Taking the position that the virus came out of the Wuhan Lab is only just an opinion.
We all have them.
I like mine with a fact or two.

People can get a vaccine or not. No country is as of yet mandating one despite how bad the current wave of infections are. Why is that?

I have no idea how bad or good it is yet again in any area other than where I live or perhaps catch a news report from some random area currently facing a surge of the non-vaccinated. That would be their own fault. Plenty of opportunity to have been vaccinated. The rest of the world will move on without them.

The WHO? Not a group I pay much attention to at the end of the day. Kind of like the UN,

I have friends who are nurses, it wasn't bad where I used to live in NY. Not the city, that sucks and I don't know anyone there other than some friends of my wife's family.

People have to make their own decisions. Unless of course the government forces them. What is the DR government going to do beyond the Universities and perhaps BanReservas?
